Level 70-73 = Nuke everything, you can solo dungeons as a healer.
Level 74+ = Any damage you take seems to take 25-50% of your health if not one shot you, you do less damage than anybody else at lower level than you are.
Like just do Mana Tombs after level 74, get charged by one or two of those raiders and you get one or two-shot.
I’ve just seen a healer die 5 times in a single Mana Tombs run because he got charged by raiders in different packs, just because he’s level 77.
Do they even test their changes? This is not a difficulty increase but stupidity increase.
Because either you’re in a run with some lower level that nukes everything for you or you’re in a run with 3+ level 74+ characters and it takes ages to clear because people keep dying.

My own 20-30 characters at level 70 are in either Pandaria Remix max ilvl gear or TWW Prepatch gear.
But even that gear gets me killed after level 74 in Mana tombs if I’m unlucky and get charged twice. Others though I’ve seen get one shot in Mana Tombs and some other dungeons on specific abilities.

The scaling is messed up, if you can’t see how this is problematic, then I don’t see why I’m even bothering discussing this with you.
I want NORMAL BALANCED scaling, not the random scaling it is now.

And yeah scaling is broken, on my tank dk i was getting hit by 250k melees with 400k max health, I think the problem besides the scaling, is that we level up fully from timewalking and the gear we get is not enough, we are “supposed” to be higher ilvl than what we actually get from the dungeons.
I recommend that you spend some gold/badges on buying gear to make it less of a pain, it really makes a difference.
This is basically the problem, unless you’re in Dragonflight Mythic level gear and keep buying new gear, you get one-shot after level 74. But that’s not just a problem for myself, but random people in pugs…
So I can buy gear for myself and remediate the issue for myself slightly, that doesn’t help me much if the rest of my party keeps getting whacked.
If you’re unlucky you’re in a group with 3+ people that are level 74+ that get one-shot or easily killed by various abilities. I’ve had one such party in Mana Tombs just now where it ended up with 4 people leaving because it was too slow and/or they died too often.
The experience is just ALL OVER THE PLACE, from one moment you stroll through with no problem and the other moment you just have to hope you’re not being targeted by some ability that can one-shot you.
It should be and remain somewhere in the middle, NOT a stroll but also NOT to ridiculous where any ability that NEVER BEFORE one-shotted people is one-shotting them just because they’re above level 74 and ‘lack the gear’.
All in all it’s not a smooth experience, and I don’t know why people on this forum keep regurgitating that we’re talking about difficulty when that isn’t even the point of contention in the first place.
Being one-shot by mobs that are unavoidable from the moment you step into Mana Tombs for example, is not a difficulty increase, it’s just plain stupid.
What is your ilvl when your getting 1 shotted… Go quest in the TWW zones tell me if same problem… I had tank on this forum say he got 1 shotted at level 80 in MT… So I tried because of what he said small pulls they did nothing so back to mass pulling…
Even without scaling… these would be issues. I think ppl forget what real leveling was like lol Take TBC as we are TW there now…going into HC with quest greens = one shots…
You couldn’t even clear the easier raids without atleast 1k HP to live boss attacks.
Scaling will never be perfect but alot is also the players…
My level 70 gear is higher / similar to gear you get from questing up till 75 or higher Also why would I waste my time doing questing in TWW, when not every quest gives you gear and it also takes far longer to level?
It also doesn’t help you at all if the rest of the people in your pug group haven’t done the same, what point is there in me leveling and buying gear if the rest of the party gets one-shot? The party would still wipe and it would still take far longer DESPITE me doing exactly what you’re claiming I should be doing.
I think you simply lack the ability to understand what we’re talking about.
Scaling will never be perfect sure, but scaling shouldn’t be EXTREME highs and EXTREME lows.
If I level up, the same dungeon should increase slightly in difficulty remediated by higher ilvl gear. It shouldn’t go from ZERO to HUNDRED in terms of damage taken and HUNDRED TO ZERO in terms of damage done.
So an ability that did like 10% of my health in damage at level 73, should do somewhere around 15% of my health in damage at level 74, NOT 50-100%.
Just now I had my level 73 Fury Warrior do 40-50% of the damage in a dungeon, after finishing the dungeon I leveled up to 74. The same warrior is now doing 15% of the damage.
Proper scaling in terms of damage done should be:
Level 73: 20-30% of the damage, not 40-50%+.
Level 74: 20-30% of the damage
Proper scaling in terms of damage taken per ability should be:
Level 73: 10-15% of my health.
Level 74: 10-20% of my health, not 50-100%.
You’re just foolhardily holding on to your ‘There is no problem with scaling’ standpoint, making it seem that I and other players are doing something wrong, whereas the scaling is all over the place.
If you haven’t noticed and you had no issues, it’s because you got boosted by lower level players and/or never got into Mana Tombs that has Raiders charging random players. So in other words you just got lucky with your parties.
Timewalking is the quickest way to level, it also gives you Timewarped Badges AND Bronze, if you haven’t noticed before those are currencies you can use to buy items with at the Anniversary event or Timewalking vendor.
