Too much class fantasy is currently dominated by humans

Pssst… Undead existed in vannila.

Huh didn’t look it up on the character creator. Good to know. Silly me.

Citation needed. Seriously, Blizzard is veeeery careful not to compare one race to another. They may describe someone as very adept at something, but very rarely will outright say that due to that, they’re better at this particular thing than others. And saying that X is good at Y, doesn’t mean tha Z isn’t good at Y too, even if up to this point Z hasn’t been described as such.

How could you forget? They have the best casting animation out of all classic races. Throw that bolt straight to the face.

I stick by the OP. humans have too much influence.

Not a fan of ABBA tbh.

Humans are the most marketable race, and lowest risk to use as your flagbearer. New players easily relate to humans, without needing any preknowledge of the lore.

Me and my friends recently started playing, 3 of us chose humans and 1 worgen. All pre knowledge we had were from watching the cinematics.

Most boring and generic you mean. I had a hard time playing my human mage yesterday and created an Earthen instead until lv 34. Think I will continue that after work I just can’t cope with a human feelsl ike betraying my faction.

Even if we consider that to be the case, there’s no need for Humans to dominate over others and take up most/many of the top spots in any class. One token representative to put in promotional materials would suffice to reach the goal of familiarity.

Yet they are still “only” 3rd place after belf and nelf in recent stats.

Then why did you make it?

Sure, I myself have considered maining an elf or orc instead of a human after playing for a few weeks and learning more about the world of WoW. But that doesn’t change the fact human was my go-to when starting and what pulled me in, as the two elf options felt too mysterious and orc way too barbaric.

I hope to see more rep from other races in the main characters of course, but I always think humans will be the most prominent race for a long while

I only wanted to see what it feels like to create my first human toon since 2005. That’s all.

What it feels like to create a character!?

Remix is fast so you can’t blame me. WE

No I dont blame you, I dont understand you. Wdym “what it feels like creating a human”? Sounds like a coming out of the closet story. Its just a character in a video game, if you dont like the race, fine, dont play it.

I do think humans will always be a staple among fantasy races because they’re just the most relateable, think about RPG games, playing a different race means understanding that race.
If you’re a human and xyz happens to you, you know how a human would respond, cause you’re one.

I do agree with what Erev said earlier about human potential, while I don’t think its a bad plot point and allows for some fun things, it overstays its welcome when you realize some 30 y/o mage whose been studying for like 20 years can magically outdo mages so old they could’ve been eyewitness to the sundering and have lived and breathed magic across all those milennia

Like all things, moderation is key.

Accept what Blizzard wrote.
Your own words.

The problem with that is that you then have a world where long lived races like elves are literally better at any- and everything that requires ‘learning and mastering a skill’.

How would that be any better than human potential?

They model even every armor based on them.

It shows in how Draenei foot armor suffers.
