Returned to the game for a year now (after a longer absence after Shadow Lands First Raid Season). I was quite unfamiliar with the Trading Post as a returning player and it read like: You are not meant to buy everything → Things will return so you can buy them.
Which kind of means: No missing out, just stick with us and play the game.
This might be a totally unfair move for some (coz of FOMO) but its what all the games are doing now. Dont hate the Player. Hate the Game?
However after a full year cycle of ever new items and sets coming. The returning 10 Items are far to few to ever catch up at all! And by doing this, its actually not a thing of priority but a thing of miss out for real! Which is actually…really unfair from a customer perspective!
Its not a Burger King oder McDonalds with a once in a live time Special. Its a game.
The things are in the data base! And since they kinda want to release more items each month than they will ever be able to bring back (25 New VS 10 Old) this system is kinda broken to me.
Please vote this topic with me, so Blizz Devs will see, that this needs a fix!
It cant stay like this. This system has nothing to do with achievements or accomplishments of the player. So I cant see why the system is like this.
Clarification:
The idea proposed (hence why I would like you to vote) → Increase the Returning Item from 10 to 25! And bring all items of a year back in the February Sales!
Just wait for February, a lot more things come back then and they are cheaper too.
I don’t understand the “catch up” you want, do you actually like everything that is put out on the Trading Post? And what exactly is the ask here? To increase the number of returning items each month?
I don’t have a problem with increasing the number of returning items but personally I think you are putting needless pressure on yourself. I understand wanting to collect everything from something you like, but if you don’t like everything why do you want so badly to catch up? Catch up to what exactly? Having the full lineup of things you don’t use?
Just get stuff you like and when something from the past you like comes back get it then. The tender given is not enough to cover everything put out in a month anyway.
Its not about “Getting Everything”.
Its about the premise: “All things will return/come back” which is and never was the case and which is mathematically quite an issue. You cant issue 25 Items a month and have only 10 returning and schedule a full return. You get more items in total than you ever will be able to bring back.
I’d like to have an increase of the returning items. Make it 25, so you have a fair chance to have things return. Its about Hoods. Cows. Scarfs. Capes. These did not even return this fabruary from the last years schedule. They are just gone.
Alright, thanks for the clarification. The “catch up” made it seem to me like you were trying to get it all so you are all “cought up”.
Anyway like I said before, I don’t have a problem with increasing the number of items in the “returning items” category. A lot of past items look better than what’s right now in the Post, so a 25-25 mirror of old and new would not be a bad idea. So yeah, I support your initiative, for what its worth; dunno how much that counts for, but your idea has my vote.
You should probably edit your post to include that increasing the number of returning items is what you want, for the people who don’t scroll down to read more replies, so it’s clear about exactly what it is that you are asking for.
If you are not subbed you can never ‘catch up’. The best you can hope for is getting some stuff you missed when it returns down the line, but missed tender is missed tender and you can’t catch up with that. And that’s by design. Loyal players are rewarded.
In february there’s always a bunch of vendors who sell previously offered stuff.
There was a guy somewhere who calculated that it’s mathematically impossible for all the things on the Trading Post to rotate back at the current speed, given the constant influx of more things.
And he pretty much argued for the same, that more stuff needs to be available on the Trading Post, because the wait right now, for certain items, can practically be infinite.
It’s a stupidly designed system through all other lenses than the business-customer-retention lens. And even that one feels stupid as hell for a video game of all things.
So you came back after a couple of years and you want to cherry pick rewards from TP, that other players were checking month - month? That’s not going to happen. I suggest you stay subbed and wait for items to circle around. Which wont be soon, but eventually there’s a chance.
Sorry man. Its not for cherry picking. Its just for a fair turn around time. There are items, which did not come back for years now. As long as more items get released than are allowed to come back, thats just gonna get worse. I think some vanity stuff is not to be time gated or FOMO locked for infinity. Tenders are limited. But instead of getting ugly sets each month, I’d rather have some things back, that did not show up for more than a expansion worth of time!
Just having logged in isnt quite the achievement to blame people for cherry picking. For some people its a game…for others it seems to be some kind of self-aggrandizement?!
