Transmog and Mounts Need a Rework 🔮

Hello Guys,

Let’s talk about the current state of transmog and mount farming in old raids and dungeons. The system is seriously outdated.

It takes a ridiculous amount of time just to collect appearance pieces for transmog — and bosses drop tons of useless junk like necks, rings, trinkets, etc. The whole process is frustrating, exhausting, and, most importantly, it drives away new players.

After 20 years, we have an enormous amount of class sets, weapons, cosmetic items, and mounts — and yet, the drop system hasn’t evolved.

And don’t even get me started on the ridiculous 0.001% drop chance for raid mounts .

Why not use the same system you already have for holiday events — one chance per day per account, with increasing drop chances each day?

Why can’t we have something like that for raid mounts — one shot per week per account, with stacking drop chances? That would actually motivate players to keep trying instead of just giving up.

The transmog situation is just insane right now. For example — I’ve been farming the flower crown from the second boss in Mists of Tirna Scithe, and it simply won’t drop.

It’s just a cosmetic crown, yet it has an absurdly low drop rate. I’d love to personally thank the “brilliant” game designer who thought that was a good idea. :woman_facepalming:

I’m suggesting a new Legacy Mode for old raids:

  • Only transmog-relevant gear and mounts drop
  • Drop chances increase over time
  • Buff to movement speed for faster clears

This kind of change would make farming more rewarding and less punishing.

These artificial time sinks and ultra-low drop rates don’t help retain players — they just push them away.

Please, make the game more fun and welcoming — for both veterans and those who are just setting foot in Azeroth. :white_heart:

Maybe this is Blizzard doing a trial run of exactly such a feature?
Coming next week. Lasts for a month.

We’re likely to see more info released on it this week.

Any raid/dungeon from previous expansions should either have no lockout at all or just a daily one. Until something changes, I’ll stick with the joy of missing out.

Unfortunately, there will only be +1 items in the loot. For example, +1 ring. I don’t even understand why they did this, it looks absurd :woman_facepalming:

Is that so? Do you have a source for that info?
Did they actually announce that or are you speculating?

They have just said it would be a buff, but they have not said how it would work, so speculation.

you can check on PTR :grimacing:

Since this event is active on the PTR, we were able to test it, and here’s what we found:

During the event, the number of items dropped by each boss in ancient dungeons and raids is increased by 1. The additional item will be a standard item from the boss’s normal drop table.

Alright, fair enough. Cheers.
Although the way things are on PTR isn’t always reflective of how they make it to live servers.
So there’s hope for something more interesting.

It’s silly to rely on Blizzard; we just need to raise public awareness. That’s the only way they’ll listen to the players.

Along to all these suggestions, there should be implemented the lift of all restrictions regarding the transmog. Completely. Whatsoever. With the amount of cosmetic gear that can be attributed to all kinds of armor types it’s long past time to allow us make whatever we want, however we want. Not to mention the restrictions on weapons used by the different classes, those the NPCs bypass on a whim while we are stuck with what we had since Vanilla. It’s outright wrong.

Yes, I fully support that

Boost ought to be standard for all legacy content, not just a month long event.
