It’s not getting played at all as it is now. Im solely playing on Firemaw.
Play on your alt. That will reduce the lag on Firemaw.

and it’s gonna be locked for lot longer, probably indefinitely

Oh no what a shame, I’m sure everyone was looking forward to our 6 hour queues and unplayable levels of lag.
Firemaw won’t be opened, which means that this returning player will just quit due to being unable to play with players she knows. Unless I decide to boost - which is unironically still open 
So no, keeping transfers locked does little - except for making returning players’ life harder, because even with boosts I don’t get back what I’ve done on my old character.

It’s exhausting honestly. I just want to play my mage in WotLK, which is stuck on the even more overpopulated Gehennas.
Blizzard even underscored that the restrictions are aimed at keeping undecided players away from megaservers, so why should people that already have level 70 characters on the realm be restricted? I will take up exactly as much space, whether or not I’m playing my Mage or Shaman, in that sense the restriction does nothing for server overpopulation.

I see no reason why we can’t transfer alts on the same account to firemaw when we already have characters here. We can level new characters, even boost a 70, but not transfer our established alts
And for the forum trolls, yeah yeah we get it, we should give up our entire raid team, guild, and community and move back to a lower population server that might end up empty within 3 months. Like our old server did. And we had to pay to continue playing.
If transfers were free then people would be more willing to transfer to smaller servers while the game is popular, and move to bigger servers when there is a quieter period. But it isn’t free. You have to pay to continue playing when people stop playing around you

Why not unlock it for horde at least? Blizzard have stated in blue posts they do care about realm population and faction balance. But why is nothing being done to control it than except locking realms when it’s too late already. What good does it do just to monitor it to see what happens. Even if few people would use the service it may still make some people stay on the server. Another idea would be to have free transfers for only one faction to certain servers in order to balance them.
Do you rly think they care? All that we read in PR statements, nothing more, nothing less.
Please unlock xfer for those who already play on the server. I CAN STILL BOOST A NEW CHAR, but I cant xfer an already exisiting one…
It’s what we have wanted all along, unlock transfers if you already have a level 70 non boosted character. Locked for EVERYONE else. This perma lock is completely ridiculous, and i sincerely hope people will quit the game. They deserve nothing more at this point
