To be fair it doesn’t say or implies in any capacity that the quest is only for your character.
When i bought the package i never expected that that quest would be character/account bound.
It does exactly what is advertised, it grants a quest for the transmog set, nothing more, nothing less.
This is some top tier bull!"#¤ lol.
Not like I expect anything else from Blizzard by now but still. Nice false advertising.
What is the big deal? I bought that more expensive preorder and I don’t mind if all got it.
:-\
None of us mind anyone getting it many have offered to put our mounts up and help people get it. Its the sneaky way they went about it.
Apparently they only made this information public because people on the US-boards have reported this as a bug and exploit as far as I have been browsing through the comments. People call this another Blizzard “feature-explanation”-statement, which they usually do to minimize the damage.
Does it? I’ve gotten a refund even when I’ve used the boost in the past, but I guess it depends on the rep you speak to.
well hc version still has mount itself, unavailble for basic buyers
I can gladly refund that mount but I suspect if it is worth any, I would take 0.01 cent in return. It is like a quest NPC rather than a mount for many.
Can’t say about outfit, i am at 22/40 i believe. Unique mount surely worth something. Anyway since wow tokens i buy most expensive editions without looking much at what included. Gold/battlenet balance is easy come easy go.
Meanwhile me : Buys basic
120 boost if you pay 15 more euros Me : real s**t? buys
Oh yeah and something about a ugly mount and a weird transmog set or something … meh
This is so scummy.
I don’t mind everyone is getting the transmog.
I am not asking my money back either.
But i do mind a big deal that i was misslead to get heroic version with this vague advertising. It is 100% sure this was last penny Blizzard got from me on anything preorder wise. From now on i don’t buy anything from them before i see other’s buy it first and how that produce actually is. My trust on them had been already going down but this was the last straw trustwise for me. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
this, and there are people who only paid for the more expensive edition because they wanted the transmog.
a friend of mine only wanted the transmog and bought the more expensive one, he would have otherwise chosen the basic edition. so he spent more money than he wanted. i would have shared the quest with him if we knew about it from the start because i d have bought it anyways because i wanted the mount. this way people are swindled into spending more money.
Sure they should learn, or better they should care more about their customers and their products. This bugs/problems with the transmog/illusion show their ’incompetence’ at least for me.
I doubt they didn’t know it was possible to get the quest by only buying the Basic Edition, I mean they don’t test their products before selling them? I actually think their knew, in my opinion they thought players wouldn’t noticed.
As a big company, Blizzard can’t make this silly mistakes. Players are invested into the game and -I repeat- some are willing to pay for a product.
Blizzard is offering different goodies in order to satisfy different targets, those costumers expect products to be ready-to-use; a millionaire company can’t deliver faulty products. This case is even worse, all those goodies are one of the main feature of their advertising campaign.
When I bought the Epic Edition first thing I noticed was a missing texture on the mount (were the cupe is), I was terribly disappointed. Me, as a costumer I want good and fully functional products.
How many months I need to wait until this transmog will be fix? Other 3 months? Sounds like a bad joke if you ask me.
If Blizzard is offering us things that don’t get fix after several months I really don’t want to spend extra money.
I would be kidding myself if I said I wasn’t going to preorder the expansions after this, but I surely won’t give any more money to Blizzard except for the game or game time. No more cosmetics and no more services.
To be honest, for me, this is just the last on a string of disappointing decisions by them. It’s a shame too, because I very much like this game but I’m less and less inclined to support the company behind it.
I do not pre-order games. Especially on digital era. Not even Cyberpunk. And stunts like these are just good example why there’s no point.
Let me say I am glad people can get transmog with Shadowlands expa., and other people helping them (they are the real MVPs in this case, to use popular meme-tagline). But what is not “glad” is how information was withheld during promotion.
Hi,
how you personaly feel as part of that scam?
That transmog set was the main thing why i buy highter version, now you tell me, i was just dumb to trust you i will not be misleaded?
Ok next time i will buy only basic version or maybe i will not buy anything, this will be maybe even better . . .
consider this catch up mechanic of sort or hidden secret.
i thought people on this forums like catch up, account wide, sharing, caring etc. Though it seems most like all that only untill it’s their turn to share and care.
It doesn’t clearly state but it is easily misleading.
Not sure how even anything has to do with this matter, but sure.
But telling people after they have spend money for a certain feature and they didnt have to spend that money is a bad move.
It might be a bug and wasnt intended but it has gotten blizzard in a weird position:
- They cant remove the transmog from people who gained it from a friend with the mount. (See different threads on this)
- They also couldnt change / hotfix it into: starting server restarts the quest dude doesnt show up if you dont have epic or heroic pre-order.
So they went with: this was intended.
We as a community have no clue if it is intended or their solution to fix a bug or whatever.
If it is the fix for the bug they didnt anticipate or test for, it isnt false advertising.
disclaimer i bought the Epic version, simply because i bought digital deluxe or CEs in the past.
I do know some people who got out the cash or gold for the HC edition simply for the transmog.
No matter what is the cause, it still is a bad move from their part.
