Is it worth sacrificing your heritage for though?
They are just there to have a Fliping picknick and tea parties⊠Ofc they are studying how to wield the void xD
Well apparently it is, why else would they go there?
Well, you it seems you think peopleâs arguments for wanting effectively High Elves on Alliance are weak.
Then I suppose the official reasoning on giving Horde the race in TBC was concrete strongâŠ
âBecause Horde should have pretty race.â
I notice of course you âcleverlyâ quote mine my replies and skip over all the reasons that make Thalassians unlike other races as far as how they fit into the whole allegiance argument. You do realise theyâve even flirted with the idea of joining Alliance? Jaina made a complete pigâs ear of it, yes, but that isnât the point.
Thalassian elves are NOTHING like core Horde races like Orcs or Trolls. They have ties to Alliance, they always have, and it cannot be disputed. I mean, why does Blizzard even in Battle for Azeroth have new High Elf NPCs in the game?
The bridge has been burnt already-- Blood Elves ARE on Alliance. Thereâs an irony really in that what we got was in fact closer to Horde Blood Elves than what many asked for, namely High Elves that were never Horde or rebranded âBloodâ.
There is value in people wanting to closely resemble their faction leader; Horde Blood Elves get to do that with Liadrin. They will still be Void Elves in name, but really itâs on the same page as having Sand Trolls giving in-all-but-name High Elves to Alliance.
The vast majority will be satisfied with just a few more cosmetic options like normal hair shades and a purely visual option to hide the purple effect of the VERY apparent racial proc. The Void IS obviously going to be variable but its very nature-- just how can a Holy Priest be just as voidy as a Shadow Priest or a Warlock?
Yet again, there is precedent for corruption variability-- look at Demon Hunters. There are many options and iconic things such as tattoos and horns are completely optional. âDuh Demon Hunters are are class, not a race.â I pre-empted you. Thatâs irrelevant, because not everything is equal and can be looked at purely by name or description-- Demon Hunters are corrupted, and so are Void Elves.
Overrated. Even if it was an option for Void elves, I would not choose it. Black hair or brunette for the Win
Good job it isnât then.
Though I imagine itâs only a matter of time.
They point isnât if they are studying or not, like I said:
But you canât point at them and say âOh they have normal colours, so all void elves should have normal coloursâ, because they havenât been initiated and so have not yet been corrupted by the void.
Itâs an attempt at Blizzard to silence high elf fans, but sure, letâs work with that. If Blizzard wants void elves to have ânormalâ options, then make sure they are different from the blood elf options. Regular high elf NPCs options are different in tone from playable blood elves, Iâm sure Blizzard can turn the dials and come up with different tones and colours for void elves.
Just checked in-game.
The High Elf Wayfarers and Silvermoon Scholars in the Telogrus Rift say these lines:
-
A path long denied to us is open at last.
-
We need no longer fear exile for the pursuit of knowledge.
So it seems pretty obvious that these guys and gals are there to study the Void.
But they are probably the outliers, they represent only themselves as individuals. Not the Blood or High Elves as a group.
To be fair, the Void Elves donât look like they do because they studied the Void.
They look like they do only because Nether-Prince Durzaan forcibly altered them during his ritual to turn them into beings of the Void.
Which was interrupted halfway through.
Alleria is proof that simply studying the Void doesnât alter your appearance.
As she studied the Void under Locus-Walker long before she gobbled up a darkened Naaru on Argus.
Sure but there just hair colors tho⊠I think we need normal hair colors to RP High elves.
Iâm pretty sure based on the reveals we have seen, normal options are comingâŠ
-
Skin colors
-
Blue, Purple eye colors added
The only ânormalâ thing they havenât revealed is hair color, which doesnât bother me at all. The fact we have normal skin and blue eyes is enough for me.
But everyone has a different opinions, and thatâs fine.
The fact they gave us Normal skin and blue eyes is a blessing. But if they gave us normal hair it would just be too similar to the Belfs, I understand where she is coming from, and I understand where you are coming from too.
We just need to make it work with what we have.
For example Iâm going to choose:
- Grey hair
- Normal skin
- Blue eyes
Along with the appropriate transmog, and the Silver covenant tabard, Iâll basically look exactly like a High elf (out of combat at least).
If we are asking for more hair colors, we need to make it logical so they can actually add it.
For example White could work, Black too.
But blonde and the other natural colors⊠I donât know. Itâs asking for too much. (Just my opinion)
That quote is a bit out of context, donât you think. I wasnât saying normal skins arenât coming. The whole quote is:
Like I said, no problem with giving void elf uncorrupted options, just not blood elf options. Keep both races as distinct as possible.
I donât agree because their just hair colors
I agree on the hairstyles but hair colors no because of their hair colors. I even think KT have the same hair colors as Blood elves.
My bad I shouldâve been more clear. What I meant was that normal options are coming. What you see in the Character customization reveal is whatâs coming (the natural skin, the blue and purple eyes) they shouldnât change anything about it. If they are going to add natural stuff beyond that like hair styles, then I agree they should look outside the belf race. Borrow some hairstyle from the Nelfes or create new ones.
I personally wonât change my character too much. Iâll probably keep the current hair color or change it to grey. Iâll choose the natural skin, and blue eyes.
The male character I have, Iâll keep him void skinned.
This is precisely what went wrong in the first place with implementing the Void Elves into the game. Uniqueness for Nightborne works because of lore, they have heaps of it and itâs rich and interesting. Uniqueness for void elves doesnât work because of lore as well, specifically because it goes against it. Or rather, the lore was bent and pulled out of the⊠khmm, void, to make them different for differenceâs sake.
Iâd rather have a copy of something that has an existing lore than something wild and oH So DiFfErent just because they perceive it to be better. An example, wildhammer dwarf vs. never before seen void dwarf! One could argue Wildhammer dwarves are boring because they only have extra tattoos and thatâs it, but Iâd rather have them than something pulled out of their aâŠs.
The true solution shouldâve been subraces (void, high, blood) with one main race (in this case just elf or thalassian elf). As it is now, main race âvoid elfâ with customization option for âhigh elfâ is the wrong way round, but we have to accept it now because itâs not going to change.
You will all be burned in the arcane-fire storm of the Sunwell, so it makes no difference what colour your hair is. We donât discriminate when it comes to traitors.
Hugs though
So far they have had skin and eyes same as everyone else but others have had hair colours and styles aswell so VE is lacking and needs more .

Just not for the Alliance.
Can you keep to the topic thanks .
Alleria wanted to come home.
Iâd say that was very much on topic.
Void Elves are an allied race.
They werenât supposed to get anything yet.
