Ok, so I’ve read a lot of forum topics about this; as a lore enthusiast and a blood elf player since TBC I really do not get why void elves should not be allowed in their home. Do not even come at me with “bUt tEh hOrDe HaS bEeN tReAtED bAdLy FOr 3 ExpAnSiOns iN A rOW” as I did not even notice and I don’t care one tiny bit - this is about what’s literally right for the lore. Bel’ameth is the new capital of the NIGHT ELVES - THE KAL’DOREI and the horde has full access to it? after burning their old capital? This is a literal joke.
If Blizzard would want to make it right lore-wise, they should assign a NPC escort to guide the void elves through the city, as the main concern initially was that their void magic would infect the Sunwell (to which they now have full access)
Imagine returning to your home, where your family probably lives, to protect it from the enemy and you’re not allowed to tour the entire city, the Horde is ungrateful, as Blood elves initially belonged to the Alliance (even blood elf- alliance protestors were mindcontrolled to cheer for the horde).
The compromise of course would be to dedicate a part of the city ONLY to them, but this, as in for now on BETA, feels just wrong.
I would go further and publicly execute every void elf traitor that speaks up.
How come they are the traitors here ahah, the blood elves have become horde by accident, and believe it or not, many of them have not complied. The BELVES only occupy Silvermoon, as in for now, because of their numbers, because void elves are only a few exiles. It has been said that Rommath only hates them because he is scared of them and scared of the power it wields, he also wants to execute every last one of them - so.
The blood elves don’t occupy the city. it is THEIR city cuz they always lived in it. And that is not going to change just because some traitors cry about it. Believe it or not but the Sin’dorei are infact loyal to the Horde after 17 years of mutal support.
Very true and real all capital cities even the lame ones relegated to a content island for a lukewarm/underwhelming expac under the promise of it being evergreen content should be faction only.
Don’t worry even the most disgruntled horde player will look at your ‘no opposite factions in faction cities’ and go yeah based I agree
I don’t see it honestly, feels like a horrible suggestion regardless of what faction you’re argueing gets a space in opposite faction capitals
If expacs need some cities to be exceptions for the story, fine, but it has to be changed back after.
So we should start with making all horde unwelcome in bel’ameth now cause that story is concluded and theres no reason for horde to stay there and then post midnight if it really can’t be done sooner all alliance should be unwelcome in SMC.
and ideally we never do this again where we make an expansion where a core race capital city becomes neutral what a horrible idea
Occupy as in “live in” it’s their city as much as it is the high elves’ and void elves’ which both pledge allegiance to the alliance; also, as I mentioned earlier - the blood elves didn’t have exactly a democratic choice over the course of their race- whether it will support horde or alliance. When it was time to choose, the alliance supportive blood elves were mind controlled or “suddenly lost their speech” due to Priest Ennas and other horde radicals. And no- they are not loyal to the Horde after 17 year of mutual support. They (Lor’themar and the racist Rommath) doubted their place several times, they wanted to join the Alliance at MoP, but then Jaina stormed Dalaran and they kinda changed their mind
.
Valid tbh, I just feel that velves should have an exception due to their origin, and tbh special place in their home would feel right to me asif they are now helping in their home save their home but after that they will not be welcome again
They are loyal to the Horde. Die mad about it. Tolkien fantasy tropes don’t have any power here. If you want elves and humans to be friends just play LOTR online.
Sure, tie cloth around your eyes and act blind if it pleases you
Wrong. Bel’am,eth is not a race capital and served as temporal questing place where the Horde was expected to leave after the battle was over. Silvermoon been Horde for 17 years and all Blizzard is doing now is making a checklist of all stuff high elf fans wanted while sin’dorei are ignored even in their own homeland. Actually I believe it is time for some Horde bias.
It is the Teldrassil replacement, but honestly wether its a core capital is second priority.
Wether its a capital city or a backwater country town with a population of 5, if its an alliance area, horde should be red named, targeted by guards and pvp checked.
If its a horde area, the same should happen to the alliance.
If you’re gonna go ‘no its our time to be allowed when they are not’ then next time then you just get stuck in a loop of giving and taking because last time we were also giving and taking.
Better to just cut it through once and go and from now on nevermore.
What makes you think I want to be able to walk around Bel’ameth? as RPer this place has no value for me.
I think I mostly just (mis?)understood your horde bias remark as a no we should still be able to stay in Bel’ameth
If you’re not we’re pretty much on the same page
Reading again it was more general
my understanding of Horde bias would us having to follow around Horde leaders for the next 3 expansions.
At this rate, you’ll probably have to wait four more years for this to happen.
You don’t count Blood Elves as Horde in Midnight, right? If you do, then your wish is already fulfilled.
the rest of the Horde should be there in Midnight as they are allies.
I remember when Ne casted High elves out of society for lingering with magic powers ,now blood elves are just the same casting those who don’t agree with magic powers but using other powers are casted outside.
Better with void powers then to become a withered ghoul one day.
As a void elves i don’t want Silvermoon to bee part of void elves home anymore .Xalatath can burn it to ash.
I suspect at the end of Midnight campaign, at least Void elves will be able to enter closed areas. If not they immediately should close Amirdrassil and gilneas to the Horde.
I don’t understand why blizzard let the Horde walk around Bel’ameth on Azeroth when they literally have the same content in Emerald dream. They lost nothing. Horde in the dream? No problem. But on Azeroth? This make no sense.
It’s all about politics in lore, because you have the Quel’dorei who want to maintain their old ways and the Alliance ties - then the Blood Elves who disregarded the Alliance due to racist Garithos, and then you have the Void Elves, who just like the High Elves - they want to be in the Alliance but they also believe that Void magic can be used to protect and save Quel’thalas from not falling again like it did with the Scourge.
Problem is, Dar’khan Drathir who betrayed Quel’thalas to the Scourge in the first place did research Void magic, which is what Umbric and his exiles are doing, which in return it is why Rommath distrusts the Void Elves.
But apart from the Sunwell, I do not think the Void Elves pose a threat to the rest of the city or the outskirts of it. Quel’dorei already do ‘pilgrimages’ in the city, and Void Elves could do. But in the end, it is just “you do not agree with our politics, you do not get to access our city”.
Now effectively, the Blood Elves have no reason to stay in the Horde apart from honoring the pact with them.
We lost nothing because Silvermoon was our city for 17 years. You can’t expect a warm welcome when all violence came from your side. And just for the record in the story the Horde was forced to leave gilneas after the quest. Something you ignore in purpose it seems.
