We deserve to know

After observing the roadmap of the different ongoing WoW versions, the most visible thing is the defeaning silence of progressive Classic after blizzcon, as a coitus interuptus. No “more information come later”, nothing.

So as paying customers I think the least thing we should be told that if they will continue to WoD or not. Becuse if this is the end, I would rather doing stuff in the game like trying out classes, playing through questlines, than grinding mounts or pets other stuff that will become meanigless anyway after september.

They don’t have to tell everything, only the bare minimum.

Yeah, I lost all interest in going for achievements and collectibles due to that. Perhaps I should’ve known this was coming

It would be best to end classic progression with MoP, create permanent mop servers and allow us to focus on Classic+.

I’m stopping playing as soon as I kill Raden HC then I’m gone for good. I’m not spending more time and resources into these chars when we don’t know if there is a future at all.

After time invested in the characters, if they just cut the cord on it, then it only makes sense to reciprocate.

Yeah, exactly. If we had known from the start that it would only be Classic, BC, WOTLK, a bit of Cata, a “whatever” MOP, and then that’s it, I think a lot of us wouldn’t have invested this much time into it.

Personally, I have two characters with over 130+ days played on each. That’s a serious time investment. So if they suddenly decide there’s no continuation, then yeah — let’s just say I’ll be both disappointed and pretty angry.

it doesn’t make sense that they won’t progress to WOD and even legion , the codes are already there , and its free money for them im sure nerds like me would love to play wod and legion again

I am pretty sure we will get WoD at least. The Pandaria is still the most played Classic Version.

Yes many play TBC right now. ToT has been out for a while now and Numbers always go down the later it is in a Phase. People also always play the newest release of WoW. When Midnight hits then people will play that. And TBC will quickly go down to only logging in once a Week. Especially with nerfed Raids. But when they get their next Raid then People will go back playing that for a while. And then SoO will get released and the Pandaria Numbers will go up again.

Even now only Pandaria still got more Players than some other Games in General. And those still do well. So as long as those Numbers stay that high they will totally Continue at least for a few more expansions.

‘Pandaria is still the most played Classic Version’… Homie, what are you smoking? The player base is dwindling, its almost as bad and the end of Cata classic.

If we were getting WoD they would have announced it by now.

They’re not going to announce there’s no continuation because they want players to continue subscribing and move either to retail or a different Classic project.

What’s likely happening given how quickly they’re running through TBC Anniversary is they want to merge the playerbases into a new project in 2027 (Wrath anniversary or something else) so MoP players will be strung along until the end of the year.

If that’s really the case — and I honestly hope you’re wrong — then I can’t think of a bigger mistake Blizzard has ever made. Think about it: Classic has been going on since 2019, if I remember correctly. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been here since the beginning, investing time and energy into this.

Why would we do that, just to be told to move on to some completely different project?

At the end of the day, until we have official information, we’re all just speculating. And the more I think about it, I honestly wouldn’t even be surprised if Blizzard pulled something like this — but I really hope we get a continuation, or at least some clear info so we know what to prepare for.

As for me, if WOD doesn’t happen, then that’s probably the end of my WoW journey. I’m not really interested in Midnight or the other Classic versions either.

if you mean currently, then yes. Just barely. We’ll get a better picture in two weeks time because TBC raiding starts today.

But overall, MoP is the least played Classic version ever. By a mile. Even below Cata.

Guilds are struggling with the roster, pugs/gdkp’s are being cancelled constantly at an alaraming rate and we’re not even in the middle of the ToT raiding schedule.

So much for the hype around MoP.

Well guess where i got those Numbers from. And as you can clearly see MoP still got the most Players.

Well sure. A lot play TBC right now. But as soon as the Raids open up the Numbers will go down a lot. Raids are already nerfed which makes it very easy. And People will get bored fast and will only log in once a Week to rush the Raid and then do something else.

Then there is the next Retail Release soon and many will totally switch over to that. Because a lot of Players only play whatever the newest Release is.

So this means they will now Play TBC Raids 2-3 Times. Then go over to Retail. Then come back for P4 in MoP. Then the next TBC Raids. Then SoO and whatever else happens in Retail next. (Dont know the order but that is not the Point)

Yes with how long the Gap is to SoO we are technically not even half way done. But this is because Blizzard is quite slow atm. Usually a Raid would only be around 3-4 Months. And after ~2 Months the Numbers always went down during every Raid before no matter how good it was.

It would have been better if they had released Phase 4 in February. With SoO around April. And WoD at the end of Summer

And even with these “low” Numbers. Just look at other MMORPGs. The “better” ones barely get 10-20k Players. So even Pandaria alone already got multiple times the Players other Games have.

I am pretty confident they will continue to WoD and most likely beyond. It is not that much work. They got the Code and can continue for some more years easily.

Right now they just got a few other things to do like Retail and TBC which takes away Time for MoP

The point is that MoP is the least played classic expansion overall.

What do you have in mind when you say the better MMORPGs? How do you know how many players they have?

With “better” i mean the “better” Games overall. The Top played ones. Not that they are better than WoW. Steam for example got live Player Numbers. So all MMORPGs from there you can see how well they do. And other Games also regularly report their Numbers. Only WoW does that not anymore and we have to guess the Numbers from Raid Logs. You can find those numbers quite easily if you search for it.

And Era got way less. Also Anniversary still. Yes MoP got less than the Expansions before but that is to be expected if the choices became more and more. Season of Mastery, Season of Discovery or Hardcore. And some just wanted to play Classic and not TBC WotLK and so on. The interest in Classic in General went down over the years. Nothing comes close to the Numbers Classic, TBC and WotLK had. Only maybe SoD Phase 1+2 but those Numbers are quite inflated with how easy it was to make another Lv25 Char for the first Raid.

I’m in the same boat. I just can’t bring myself to do much in the game right now because of the uncertainty about its future. If MoP is the end, then I honestly don’t see the point in playing and spending time on collections and achievements.

I think everyone wants to know what the end game for Classic is. The uncertainty is probably one of the main reasons so many players stopped playing in the first place. I really hope they clarify things soon.

Personally, I’m hoping we continue into WoD and Legion, and then maybe eventually transition into retail. That would give everyone a second chance at the CM sets and weapons, as well as the Mage Tower appearances.

Totally agree. I think since they did legion remix they might keep it going, otherwise it feels pointless . Sure il raid SoO provided my guild has the numbers but im noticing more and more guilds recruiting now but a lack of bodies to fill a roster. For me mop has been ok and generally ive enjoyed classic coz i never got to fully raid back in original wow due to work/rl.

If they decide not to continue, at the very least id hope they offer some sort of boost/transfer to whatever is next so the characters dont got to waste but it would mean they probably transfer to retail, which not everyone wants to play.

I’m the opposite. I want them to announce they are stopping with MoP so they can focus on making Classic+ a decent game. WoW is becoming progressively worse with every expansion after TBC.
