What class is Genn?

He is a furry warrior.

Genn is a Chuck Norris

They’re kings they can do whatever they want

Lore characters can pretty much do whatever they like, but some are pretty defined

Gelbin Mekkatorque is/was pretty much Warrior Class, with Engineering as a profession.
Lor’themar Theron is straight out ā€˜Hunter’, but a -Farstrider- so we can see him do some pretty magic shiz with his arrows in the Belf Heritage quests.
Sylvanas likewise: Hunter, but as a Dark Ranger she replaced the nature stuff with shadow stuff.
Varian Wrynn was straight up Warrior.
Garrosh? Straight up Warrior.
Taran Zhu? Monk.
Alleria? Hunter.
Vereesa? Hunter.
Turalyon? Well, duh, Paladin.
Velen? Priest.
Anduin Wrynn? Priest learning to be a Paladin, I mean its not like that has never happened before, I mean that’s what Liadrin was.
Baine? Warrior.
Thrall? Clearly a Shaman.
Rokhan? Rogue.
Gallywix? Really hard to pin down, I want to say Rogue…but we’ve never actually -seen- him do anything in combat to give us a clue.
Tyrande: Hunter, just one that embraces the more mystical side of it, which lets face it, is what Sentinels, and for that matter Farstriders -are-.
Nathanos? Hunter,
Eitrigg? We’ve never seen anything more than -Warrior-.
Jaina? Well, obviously Mage.
Genn Greymane is pretty much -Warrior- with his Worgen abilities tacked onto it.
The Three Hammers? Tricky, very tricky. I want to say Muradin=Warrior, Falstad=Shaman and Moira= Who knows what…

At the end of the day they are ā€œX Class plus special stuffā€ I mean Genn is a Warrior, but he is able to surprise Sylvanas in Stormheim, in their whole scrap, but I think that is more due to him being a Worgen, than him being a ā€˜Warrior’. Gelbin is able to play an absolute Sherlock Holmes on Sicco in ā€˜Cut Short’, but I think that is more due to him being a -Gnome- rather than his class.

I think it is safe to say that any Lore character, really, kind of transcends ā€˜Class’ and can do what they need to do at the time…

I have a slight off-topic suggestion. We should rename survival hunter into ā€˜Bomber’ spec.

I would say between Warrior and Outlaw Rogue with some elements of Hunter too. He is shown using a 2h weapon while also sometimes using a pistol or a rifle to go along with it. In Cata he was purely a Warrior.

Also Anduin was always a priest. Even though he wears plate armor or using a 2h weapon. Lore characters aren’t restricted to one class, nor to any armor type/weapons.

Not so clear though ^^ Anduind is not hovering in the air while casting mass ress haha  he is hybrid class :stuck_out_tongue:

watching legion cinematic while Genn was fighting barehanded with Sylvanas while she kept that great Val’ kyr with that lamp is making me think that he is warrior (rogue fits playstyle but crafty rogue as a King?), he never attack with any spell, so as Puny said, warrior is my bet.

Devs have pretty much stated that he is a priest. After the BFA cinematic when people asked them if he was a paladin now.

The big characters usually are. They are more powerful than us regular Champions of Azeroth

Khadgar could wield Fire Frost and Arcane together in Warlords of Draenor.

Imo an outlaw rogue/warrior.

That is perfect guild name though

but yeah, we are minor champions, we can play only one spec :frowning:

My first thought too.

Probably a Warrior, I mean he’s raging all the time.

To be honest, if I were forcing a class upon him I’d be most tempted to say he was a Feral Druid actually.

Although he spends most of his time in a human form, he transforms into a Wolf Form (The same as the Druids of the Pack’s) in order to fight things with his fangs and claws, much the same as a Feral Druid. The only real difference is that his Feral form is bipedal rather than on all fours.

Although, as others have said, main characters don’t really have classes - which ultimately is the answer. He’s a mix of Fury Warrior/Combat Rogue/Feral Druid IMO.

Lore characters don’t really have a class like in-game.

Classes in games are the way they are for balance purposes and simplicity. Lore characters have as much as a class as someone in real life has a career. You can be a cardiovascular surgeon, aka a surgeon (class) who specializes in ā€œthe heartā€ (spec), yet still have knowledge of many other things and be able to use that knowledge.
Lore characters aren’t stuck on a class that only can do a set of things like out in-game toons.

But, if you really want to go that route, the wiki classifies him as a warrior.

he is discipline warrior

Anduin is first and foremost a loser.

Actually Anduin is beautiful.

But yea, they stated that he is a priest even after BFA. But honestly Paladin is just a priest that is more vanguard focused, so doesn’t really matter.

Genn is obviously a demon hunter.

Maybe Genn hacked WoW and created the Worgen class, similar to how Mr T created Night Elf Mohawk.
