What customization options would you like to see for your race?

I don’t mind having it, I think how its nice addition for the LFD and something unique we have.

I’d just be happy with upright undead. No bones is pretty cool but Forsaken standing upright like the ones in Dazar’Alor would make all my dreams come true

Don’t joke with my emotions dammit.

I would like to get (in general to all races):

  • more hairstyles especially braids
  • option to choose eye color
  • option to choose brow style and color (i hate on kul tirans picking nice white hair makes your brows also white)
  • hair ornaments like decorative combs, hairbands, bobby pins etc…
  • make up

No no i think it was actually said by a dev that there WILL be over 40 customization options for the blood elves alone. Meaning it will probably be decently equal for all the races unless they want to spark mass outrage. So yeah probably a ton of new stufff

That’s good news.

Jokes aside, i hope all races get cool stuff.

Beyond the addition of hairstyles, tattoos and piercings, I think most of the females races look great.

But you have a serious ugly male character problem in this game with the exception of blood elves.

I understand that you want races to look visually different but almost all the women look like young, cute humans with with different skin colours and extra bits whereas most of the males look like OLD, hideous circus freaks. I get if you are playing a troll or a goblin, he’s not going to look like a supermodel but it doesn’t mean they have to look repulsive if that’s not the character you want to play.

I’ll just go through the races and talk about the customisations that could alleviate the problem.

Humans: Male humans are chunky and have no shape to their bodies. Their shoulders are the same width as their waist and hips and they stand their with no personality like they are in a queue at Burger King. They are the capital race of the Alliance and they don’t even look heroic. Blood elves have the most human looking body shape in the game (?) and male humans look like Minecraft men.

People are asking for thinner humans and that would be great as an option but I would just like some tweaks to give them more shape, a smaller waist would be a start but ultimately what lets them down is their idle pose. Why can’t they stand proud like blood elves or dranei or even the newly postured orcs with their feet apart and their shoulders back?

As for that one face, it’s great you are offering black and Asian face shapes (and I’m looking forward to playing them) but I hope you just don’t leave the original face for Caucasian characters with no additional options. Why does every male character have to have a crooked nose? Why do the face texture options go from middle aged to Methuselah? If you were aiming for rugged, you ended up with ancient or haggard. The Asian face gives me hope but the new black face looks old and rough in comparison and then obviously all the women look like supermodels.

Night Elves. That one face is awful. Again, even the youngest option looks rough and it deteriorates to basically decomposing. And again, our characters have to have a hooked nose while females look like they just got back from seeing Dr 90210. How about a head option that isn’t a grimacing old man? Also, please uncouple beard and eyebrow options. Also different and less glowy eye colours.

As for their body shape, it’s the opposite problem of the humans. It’s too extreme. Tiny heads on massive torsos, minuscule waists and then ginormous hands and feet. They do share the posture problem with humans though but in their case, they are hunched over with their arms dangling at their sides. Why can’t they stand proud?

Dwarves: A no beard option would be great if under that beard wasn’t a wrinkly old man. More face shapes. If a dwarf MUST have a beard for lore reasons, how about a short neat beard?

Gnomes: Mostly OK but more face shapes and younger looking complexions would be great and uncouple beards and eyebrows. Less wacky beards would be appreciated.

Dranei: I like their look but they are humongous. A still buff but smaller body shape option would be amazing. More face shapes and more hair horn combos.

Worgen: I like the new models a lot. Please uncouple the human appearance though and a face option that isn’t so savage looking would be welcome if I want to RP a softy worgen. Someone mentioned tails. Makes sense to me.

Pandaren: Erm, they are are pandas, I have no insight here.

Orcs: With Horde races, male beauty is obviously not something that comes to mind but their additional head options could fix that. Do all orcs have to have the same stubby nose and a mouth hanging a foot lower when again, the females look like green humans? I actually really like all the Mag’har orcs options and would like to see the same level of customisation for regular orcs.

Undead; No bones is a great start. The options to look like a fresh undead like Nathanos would be awesome. I know they are supposed to look grotesque but maybe not all of them? I might actually play one if I didn’t have to look like a rotten zombie because I like their story. Less wacky hair would be great.

Trolls: Upright posture like Zandalari, smaller tusks options, different head options. The new skins look great.

Blood elves: Regular non glowing eye options. The Sunwell was restored. They are not mana addicted anymore. Unless you actually add high elves to Alliance. I can’t really complain too much about blood elves. I need a reason to NOT play them.

Goblins: New models look great. Different face shapes would be appreciated. Do male goblins not have eyebrows for a reason? More yellow and browner skin tones would be great.

Tauren: Can’t play as a talking cow so I’m not going to weigh in there.

Hoods with hair would be nice, not a customisation per se but it so annoying to become bald every time.

Purple eyes for Void Elf.

Scars. Facial scars, missing eyes, facial iron plates. Stuff that makes characters look like they are veterans of 1000 fights.

Also different color lipstick for belf girls. They’ll probably go crazy over that.

You already dead mate, you don’t need to scars to show that you are a veteran

For Human Tattoos maybe they could have a branded symbols like lordaeron or any of the other human kingdoms just nice little details were someone could show off more their fav kingdom in the lore, Besides lions…

And I don’t expect it ever been an option but Scarlet even Argent symbols.

For Nightborne i would say metal chin. Not only for one heritage armor but when you create character you should have option to pick one. Like earrings.

Trolls :

  • less benched posture. When Idle they keep semi-straight back, when run they bench to run faster or when they kneel they bench their back like usual (gotta keep the traditions). Look at Zappy Boi / Zekhan for reference.
  • More Hairstyles, always bugged me why trolls are mostly balding .
  • Add option for boots - it will be a pain to run into Icecrown with bare foot again.

Tauren :

  • Different Horns --> look DH’s.
  • Different eyebrows options.
  • Add hair option, seperatly to the mane on their back.

Undead :

  • More bones, literaly becoming almost a skeleton with just some skin hanging for those sick skeleton magi cosplays.
  • Different stiched limbs / body parts, that’s how they preserve themselfs isn’t it? Left hand with a darker taint and less roted, Right hand with visible bones and advanced rooting.
  • Straight back option. See Dazar’Alor guards for reference.

Worgen: Previous running style
Nelf: Smaller/crippled/no ears (or an option to hide them when wearing a helmet)
General: Fat/slim/height/muscles and so on options/sliders

Despite I play Nightborne and I do realy love them why Blizz didn’t gave them the same models/customization just like the NPC’s have?
The NPCs looks so great but when it comes to playable Nightborne it turns disaster.
