Hi everyone, I was hoping to discuss some things everyone is missing in cosmetic options. Of course, a huge graphic overhaul might be a bit far fetched, but some lower hanging fruit should be plausible.
I’ll start off with some things that I have been missing so far.
1. Shields.
I would like to see some realistic shields. For instance, large round shields. Most shields are either graphically very sad to look at, or near comically ornamental. Additionally, I couldn’t help but notice most shields are attached to the upper arm where, as we all surely know, they are attached to a combo of wrist/hand. This high position also causes them to usually clip with shoulders.
2. Cloaks
Cloaks are currently one pixel wide planks that have no resemblance to anything realistic made of cloth, wool, or otherwise. They barely move when a character moves, and when it does I am not sure what material I should fantasize it is.
3. Quivers
Hunters gather! Artifact bows have them, we used to have a quiver slot even way back. Where are they? Surely not every transmogrification warrants “magic arrows appearing on the string”.
4. Spell swords and staves
Why are mages not using their powerful swords and staves to cast their fireballs from? This would require graphic overhauls of a higher degree than the above mentioned ones I suppose.
5. Class skins
Probably mentioned before, but custom colors for spells and icons that fit the class fantasy better (a macro could do the latter, but it is the least interesting part anyway). Think Worgen claws for melee specs, blue Elune priest magic, red/sunny paladin light, etc., etc… Warlocks had this for their purple/green choice a while back and it was awesome. Perhaps again, difficult to implement.
6. Weapon sheathing
Choose where to sheathe weapons (back/hip), and make them look a bit better. Swords and staves just cannot be magnetically attached to the back, we need sheathes or possibly even straps.
