Just curious. I run WoW on a fairly beefy gaming computer, but I’ve heard from friends that they somehow got it working on really old laptops, and I have a guildie who says they even got it working on a mobile hand-held computer! (Albeit running very poorly)
I remember one time I had to use a laptop while my desktop needed fixing and I didn’t have a USB mouse at the time (This was back in like Wrath?) and trying to play WoW with only a touchpad… ouch.
Works just fine - I have ordered the new generation Mac mini with the 6 core i8 processor so that I can add an external GPU at a later date if necessary.
But you really don’t need all that to run WoW in a more than adequate state
i think most older computers will run it cause wow still uses the same game engine from years back on single thead processors.
i did hear it is gonne be changed but not sure when though or how
I hope i won’t have to create a thread in customer support immediately after asking for suggestions on how to remove stuttering or extremely low fps…that would really not be nice.
Currently playing on an old laptop from 2012. It was kind of good that days, it had i7 3630hq, gtx670mx, 16gb of ram, 256gb ssd drive. Handles wow really good, few raid/mass situations are starting to reveal its age. Thats why I started preparing for a new build, which will be desktop this time. So far I have got MSI GF1070 Armor 8G OC, Seasonic 650W power supply, Fractal Core1100 case, 512gb crucial ssd and some seagate hdd. Next month I am getting RAM - 2666mhz DDR4, motherboard and hopefully, a processor. Looking at i5-9600K, but not yet decided. Depending on the 13th paycheck and xmas work rewards, I may get a g-sync monitor to go with it.
Intel Core i7-7700k /w Be quiet Dark Rock Pro 3
16GB DDR4 3200Mhz
MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON
ASUS STRIX 1080TI OC
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB AND 500GB
CORSAIR RMx 750W PSU
CoolerMaster MasterCase Pro5
DX12 was a gift from heavens. I run stable 60FPS everywhere on 8.
Haven’t spent a penny on the PC for 8 years now except the GPU and not willing to do it anytime soon. Just keep investing in the new i7 folks, totally worth it!!! xDD
