What have you done to BM

BM currently has to be the weakest class by far its so bad even open world stuff becomes a struggle if you pull one too many mobs.
Killing stuff outside of Bestial wrath takes ages our attacks hits like a wet noodle I know you said you would not do anymore tuning until March 17th, but this is ridiculous.

If it’s left like this BM will build a reputation of being useless before the season starts, and it will stick around for long after any fixes making it hell for BM hunters to pug I’m lucky I have friends to run with but those who don’t will be screwed.

Idk I feel like with 100% mobility BM will (again) outperform other dps most of the time even if we were 20% behind on turret scenarios.

I’d play MM but they somehow made it even more boring than BM.

I mean It’s not even close also who ever decided putting 90% of our damage on BW is such a bad idea it feels so bad to play

They butchered it. It’s not playable. No spells, no abilities, no damage, no fun.

Immediately add back:

  • Barrage
  • Scatter Shot
  • Stampede
  • Murder Of Crows
  • Explosive Trap
  • Multishot
  • Explosive Shot
  • Heart Of The Phoenix
  • Dire Beast
  • Binding Shot
  • Killshot
  • Arcane Shot

increase damage on everything with 50-100%

I was hoping that it is just the pre-patch and will get better at level 90,
but being at level 90 with 220 ilvl it still is an absolute pain to play.
You literally need BW for every single mob in the open world and you’re fighting in dungeons with the tank for a damage spot.

I am only 200 ilevel, and I frequently am 2nd on the meters, but I agree it’s really hard work to play.

The 19% nerf was brutal

BM is so awful to play atm. I can’t even bring myself to level to 90 on my main since 2005.

I have to agreee. They butchered it completely.

Literally while leveling you will oneshot mobs with bestial wrath, and the only thing you do outside of it is tickling mobs until it comes off cooldown again.

No idea how this ever came past actual game tests.

I tried MM, which does much better constant damage, but you have constantly aggro and are virtually regenerating after each fight.

So I switched to survival for leveling and just play with the one button as I have no idea what his skills do, and this is currently a so much better experience for leveling.
Really never been a big fan of melee hunter, but if you are struggling with the current BM performance while questing I really can recommend that.

This BM spec…
it looks good, but…
it’s wrong…
broken…
falling apart…

Yeah, I’m currently playing SV as it’s the closest to BM just melee locked I HATE being a melee dps, it feels like I’m a second rate citizen.

But it’s currently the only hunter spec that doesn’t feel like absolute butt cheeks to play it flows well has decent damage regardless of CD’s, and it flows well with almost no issues with focus at least when DWing.

I just HOPE the pre season class tuning fixes some things because i REALLY don’t want to do real content as a melee dps

I just saw this thread after I posted my own. I’ve been playing since Vanilla and never once felt the urge to vent my frustration in an official forum post — but here I am.

In 20+ years I’ve never experienced anything like this. What has Blizzard done to the Hunter? Leveling as a BM has never felt this wrong. It’s not even just about the lack of damage — it feels like the Hunter is completely broken.

I’ve been playing MM, even for world content, but I find BM just too braindead to play. At least before there was managing barbed stacks, keeping up beast cleave. Nothing major but enough to keep you going. Now it is literaly keyboard whack-a-mole - spell comes off cooldown, hit it. No depth whatsoever.

MM plays better but the lack of cooldown reduction on Trueshot sometimes feels painful. Like “Trueshot over, going to go and make coffee and be back in 2 minutes because it won’t make a jot of difference to my damage  “.

No bm is terrible dps wise they need buffs tbh.

Every class spec is as good as brainded atm

Honestly the best way to explain BM game play right now It’s like riding a bike with a dented / half moon shaped wheel.
It’s smooth for a bit (when BW is up) but then it just stops (when BW drops) with enough speed (haste) it kinda sort of works but its extremely shaky and doesn’t feel great.

MM on the other hand is so slow that it feels like your constantly going uphill and if you try and stop you will lose your progress due to rolling backwards (having to move when casting aimed shot).

SV especially when dual wielding as PL is like riding on a nice and smooth freshly paved road BUT it’s really windy and a lot of hazardous stuff is getting blown around by the wind that you need to constantly avoid.

(Being a melee dps in midnight maybe just in general where it feels like every other mob has some sort of melee range circle attack and/or drops random crap on the ground in melee range or just general melee range splash damage)

I seriously hope BM gets quite a bit of love on the 17th and or on the 23rd I’m not even sure what the best way would be to fix it with just numbers tweaks.
Maybe lower the CD on some things increase the focus gain maybe up the base damage quite a bit so it doesn’t feel like I’m hitting people with pool noodles outside of BW.

Honestly having everything tied to BW being up was such a poor design choice, but it can’t really be fixed without reworking the spec and I just don’t see that happening anytime soon.

MM is just slow changing aimed shot to a 3-second cast baseline was a mistake I would also love being able to cast aimed while on the move, but honestly it’s probably that the MM play style is not for me which is fine

SV is fine for the most part game play wise it has some major class identity issues tho as it feels less like a hunter and more like an outlaw rogue and a bunch of animation bugs where the boomstick animation get stuck or how we are using 2h weapon animations even tho we are using two 1h weapons.

I just don’t see why anyone would willingly play a melee dps because everything sucks in melee range It’s just once again not my preferred play style

i could never believe this time will ever come to wow but it did, class popularity in midnight hunter is 6th
it mainy happened ofc because of the state of BM, i never could believe i will miss multishot, while maybe not a very fun button to press in competitive pve as it almost did no damage, it was a cool skill to pull mobs when farming or destroy mobs when doing older content, multishot is replaced by wild trash which has 8 second cool down and then cobra shot mobs one by one, extreemly annoying >.>
on top of that BM does no damage, this actually made even casual/pve players to move away from the spec, it clears so slow
MM got to be the most unfun spec to play solo pve, 2,2 seconds casting AIM shot idk how you wont fall as sleep, its tortute
so i moved to sv for now, thing i could not expect ever to happen as well, boomstick is ok to press but sv does really bad st dmg
i could only hope for the class writers to be more active and vocal as writers of other classes
ps: until better times

bm getting some buffs on the 17th, 18 for us

Pack Leader,
~12.8% single-target buff.,
~2.8% AoE buff.,
Dark Ranger,
~7.2% single-target buff.,
~2% AoE buff.

yeah, but it looks like it will still be quite a bit below both MM and SV and it does nothing to help with the horrible gameplay loop but i guess we can wait and see

Yay we can finally compete fairly with the tank for dps.

We need double that aoe buff
