I’ve already raised catfishing as an obvious. And also the damage it might indirectly do to the player behind the voice changer mentally. Those seem like two good enough points, and my final one is building friendships off deceit seems like a bad start or routine. Because if it goes wrong, then it might have a more extreme problem
You know why I’m advocating against voice changers, it’s because I find the encouragement reckless

Let’s say I like to play tennis, and I go to a tennis club and bond with someone over that. We play tennis together and have a grand time. They never mention a word about the fact that they’re trans, because it has no impact on us playing tennis or our relationship.
Eventually I might find out or they might tell me.
This does not change us playing tennis or our friendship, unless I was intending on getting romantic with them or getting into their pants. EDIT: This would also still not mean that they’ve ‘deceived’ me by leaving out personal information that I had no right or reason to be made aware of up until this point.
