they’ve got a sweet which changes their voice to the perfect pitch when they chew it; they can either rely on this sweet or stop using it. Or mayhaps the sweet falls out their mouth and they loose that tone and shock their friend
In the context of this specific example, I think a sweet that makes them do a perfect serve would be more of a betrayal.
I’m not seeing why you believe that, in that situation, it would make any difference if their voice was different (EDIT: surprise notwithstanding). I know people who force their voice higher or lower, who speak with a slower cadence or a sultry tone. I think, and perhaps this should have been asked earlier, you might want to ask yourself why someone’s voice changing would be such a shock to you personally.
From this entire debate, it’s clear that it wouldn’t be to many people.
It’s just occurred to me that some of us get referred to as “bigots” a lot on these forums. But when an actual bigot comes along, we’re the ones calling it out?

This thread is one wild ride of emotion. Funnily enough, the people certain folks accused of bigotry yesterday afternoon are now adamantly defending trans rights. It’s almost as if… they’re not bigots? Who would’ve thought.
Also, Galford: The best thing for you to do is to educate yourself using non-right wing sources. I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and say you lack understanding and have fallen under the sway of RW blogs/YouTubers. I was like you many years ago. All it takes to break free from bigotry and hatred is education. Free yourself!
