However there are alt-a-holics out there who play many classes and like many of them and just want that extra push on deciding which one is more worth investing on.
No such thing in realistic measures. Not a average skill level.
Routes arent optimised, nor is communication used to enable those logs to be a reality for the vast majority of players.
Arcane mage is a S tier dps. How many do u meet that show that though? Not many.
Ive out dps’d monks and DHs with a shadow priest. Even though by log value it shouldnt ever happen.
Max dps will be what he can play best. If we are tslking real max dps, he would require to persue a actual premade. And make a decision based on the comp they run if we wanted to really maximise his input regarding this content.
But it catagorically didnt. Survival was very good yes, but destro warlock was top with it among fire mage to add.
It wasnt 3x the dps of everyone. Realistic dps differences around 10% if that, dont blame the game, when its likely the issue is the one playing it.
Fotm rerollers arent altaholics. They just think playing a overpowered class will give them a easy ride. Rarely do u ever see them do well, its why you end up with players on the forums trying to tell people their specc isnt overpowered. Because it isnt when their using it due to barely reaching a green parse.
There are more shades of grey than overpowered and balanced.
For example I would not be recommending shadow priest to anyone right now. Not because of some stats/rankings that I have not even looked, but based on how it felt while I was playing my priest on the prepatch. Sure people who really love the spec can make it work and nobody can tell them they should not, but someone who is on the fence might regret trying to be a shadow priest right now
Demon hunter, rogue and windwalker.
rogue is pretty much always the best class you can play for M+. it’s almost always at the top of the meta and is the most influential class you can play for M+ because of the utility it brings.
Well no one would recommend shadoe haha. But i do pretty well with it and have topped meters. So i dont mind it
But yes what is and isnt bis is a very grey area, espically when going deep, for example even in s4 when fire was overpowered as hell i wouldnt of recommended it. As its performance in pugs or average groups tend to be far lower.
I dont think theres a strict answer to the OPs question however.
Instead of a strict answer one would probably need to prepare a questionnaire.
Preferred role, preferred distance from enemy (melee, ranged or lizardman), prefered damage type (direct/DoT) If ranged the choice between physical or magical, etc
shadow is fine, but i would say in this meta its not that great. 45 sec cd on a kick is abit much in this meta.
go WW monk Rogue or havoc, insanely overpowered all 3.

I am pretty sure devastation can do well in middle mythic plus because they can spam aoe but I dont think they are op. Do you have a link to your devastation evoker? I am not planning to do mythic 20 myself, my goal is 10-15 but its always nice to see atleast a few devokers still having fun and not rerolling.
When I check the logs Devastation is nowhere OP, they are pretty bad in every situation…
There are 999+ havoc dhs in solo shuffle over 2k, there are 47 devokers last time I checked 0.0
There are about 364 havoc dhs over 2k rated in 3v3 last time I checked, I think there are about 12 devokers, everyone I checked is inactive since the flame breath nerf, oh boy.
In raider io, it is showing some devokers but when I check the extremely few devokers they are listed as healers in their io score…
In mythic raider io, every devoker is benched.
Havoc DH, Ele sham, Fire Mage
Devoker is bottom pack on all logs? In m+. I dunno how u can call it overpowered. The logs kinda prove at the edge of play their not great.
