What's happened to common courtesy in dungeons?

Nah the only thing that isn’t impressive here is your terribad attitude.

In classic you had to pray the gods and wait for the planets to align before forming up a group and go through dungeons, so it was sure as hell you would try to keep in touch with the other players, so next time MAYBE instead of spending 2 hours getting ready, you’d spend just 1 (ok I’m overly dramatic here but that’s the point). Now, LFG speeded that up a bit, making possible even for idiots like me to see the story without having to put much effort. That doesn’t mean you actually get the most out of wow, you just SEE it.

Now, real pro players do m+, which are way harder but also give more rewards. So, you have more to do. Having a LOT more to do, you can’t afford spending that much time forming a group, so you try to speed things up and make them efficient because you have to grind them on a regular basis to get results. Being it faster and easier, and having way many more things to do in order to get the most out of wow, you don’t really care about making friends.

Pick your poison, but don’t think one is better than the other. It’s just different, and there will always be something to complain about.

But if we ignore the harsh wording , am I wrong tho ?

Yes. I always say hi in dungeons and I am not sitting in a dark room

I mean about the everyone done the dungeon a 100 times and is usually on discord with friends already.

And if not their is the guild chat / communism chat / and other.

In my opinion it’s not that common courtesy is lost, but that we have so much other stuff now that a dungeon we do again and again is not the focus of our attention anymore.

You make a lot of assumptions… this is what you do.

You can’t speak for everyone else.

Neither can anyone in here. But if you want we can make a poll and see if we can get some hard statistics.

I would bet we would get the results I am assuming

I’m not sure there is a correlation between the two.
mIRC, ventrilo/teamspeak has always been a thing, and at those times I would still take the time to communicate ingame.

There just is 0 incentive now.

Yeah I am sure they will say they sit in a dark room feeling proud to be social

Hey , I already said that I worded this to harsh. Let’s not make this the main argumentation. Else I don’t really see the point in this outsite of you feeling attacked.

If I hurt you with this , know it wasn’t my goal. It was a simple example of how this glorified dungeon socializing is basically meaningless

Lol no

well if its any help to anyone, I take note of who replies to my hello and if they didn’t and then beg for an item that drops for me I will reply with “I don’t need it but as you didn’t say hello at the start, im not going to give it to you. Off to the vendors with it or I may even just throw it away”

Childish, but hopefully it will encourage people to the say hello when they join. You cant negotiate with people, you have to force them to be polite these days.

Yes they have no issue communicating when they want that item you just got

That’s usually the only time I hear anything, the worst is when they start moaning and whining :pensive:

I don’t know if it helps or not, but IF(big IF here) I queue with pugs no matter what kind of content, I usually just treat them like poorly programmed bots and ignore them, that way you can’t get dissapointed.

Oh don’t even get me started on those begging jerks, they’re automatically denied xD

When I read this tread It makes me feel very lucky  Having a social guild and a social community, being on a RP server where we emote and reply all the time in /s. Sure some players don’t commit to RP, but I do(unless it’s random group) and so does many others.

But even when i do a quick LFR or just run some heroics for expulsom mats most of the people are either neutral or friendly players. Not to mention I’ve only ran into a very smal number of rude and obnoxious people in Raid and M+ PuG’s. I think I have 3 people on my ignore that ain’t boost seller spammers.

This tread make it sound like were living in a post apocalyptic society where everyone is just out for themselves etc. When in reality WoW is a very friendly game compared to many others. If you ask the plumber if he want’s coffee and he say no then instead does his job and leaves. It’s not the end of the world even if a coffee break whould had been nice.

big cheers to you.

I also never really noticed community being “baddies”

like yeah, game’s more socially dead than it was (thanks to blizzard :)) )
but overall i feel like, a sense of people is still there and you can socialize properly if you want to.

feels like some people have issues doing “social” stuff and point fingers at others for being asocial

LFG and LFR systems just automate finding a group , teleport you in and out of the dungeon back to exactly where you were standing, content is faster paced, no one cares about you because you can just be kicked and replaced by the automated system in a few seconds and it just teleports your replacement in, there is no need to invest any value in players anymore, just shut up, zerg ,get your personal loot and peace out, thats retail wow

Exactly this. And it will be even worse this time because everyone is supposed to know everything now.

I mean, if you’re not even gonna DPS properly, you really shouldnt be asking for bigger pulls :joy: just saying.
