Ngl, I think I am the first time negative on this one, even tho there is a couple of months left.
- Instead of getting proper Beta-Testers, they decided to sell out their Beta, partially to people who are even too stupid to log in.
- Without buying the Epic-Edition, you can’t even give feedback on what’s bad. So you basically have to pay 90€ to HELP them to fix their game. That’s more than just a troll lamo
Just this 2 points are already a huge throwback in terms of quality we gonna end up with. That means, just due to their greed, we probably will have another 2-3 months (if not longer) after release fixing basic stuff that should have been fixed by now already. And there is a lot to fix.
Besides all the class bugs and issues, let’s just focus on the UI, something a competent person could fix within one day. The problem is that most Blizzard guys are not competent nor are they aware of some issues since they don’t play the game at all. And it’s very hard to fix an issue if you are not even aware of it.
Party frames. With or without addon, it’s in a bad state. It’s lacking A LOT of BASIC stuff which pretty much every addon did right.
- Prioritization
Means you can adjust buffs/debuff in the order you prefer. Let’s say you are a Rdruid and you have like 5-6 HoTs + buffs. Now you don’t want to play hide and seek on every single frame of a player and see what HoTs are out and which ones are missing. This is gonna kill your eyes and brain. The HoTs/buffs need to be in a specific order that fits the players playstyle.
- Black-/Whitelist
In order to remove cognitive load and make every visually more appealing, you, as a player, should decide what you want to see on your frames. Some stuff is important, some is not but takes away space that you need.
- Padding
Padding means the distance from one buff/debuff to another. Same goes for nameplates. I have no idea how you can come up with having Y-paddying but not X-padding and think you did a good job.
- Layers
Maybe not a big issue but might be a good example. The name of the player on the frame has the prio. Means you see it better than the health bar and there is no way to change that, with or without addon. Now you can make the name smaller or remove it but it’s a stupid workaround.
- Action on button-press or -release
Now I do believe it’s on press but I can not 100% confirm it. I personally think it’s also the better option but maybe some like it on -release and there is no option for that. This is a minor issue if at all.
- Health bar progress or bar animation
This is how your health bar behaves when your group member is getting hit. Sounds minor but is actually very important. I don’t think Blizzard even knows this kind of option exists.
- Visibility
I don’t know why but you can tune down the visibility of frames. But this makes no sense. The point of this option is to tune the general visibility down OUTSIDE of combat but increase IN COMBAT. This is simply not possible.
Ok, I am noticing I am already typing way too much but the list of issues goes on and on and on and on and on and on… it’s actually crazy. And that was like just a small portion from mainly one “addon”… then you have the WA-copy bs where I am wondering why can’t you have “progress texture”? Why is it only bars and icons? And if you have those bars already… why does it only go from left to right and not right to left? Or maybe the option is there but I just couldn’t find it? Idk…
Whoever thinks this UI in Midnight is gonna be much more beginner or casual friendly, you guys will get disappointed. I barely use any addons and I had more trouble setting up the UI in Midnight than in any other WoW expansions, while not even reaching 30% of QoL that I usually have.
