When the dungeon finder coming back?

So your response to me telling you that organized groups skipped certain Cataclysm heroic dungeons and bosses is some random tangent about TBC and then going “no it was really RDF”.

Cataclysm desperately needed a day 1 patch and that patch was delayed for over a month cause the devs went on Christmas holiday and “hoped the playerbase would rise to the occasion”.

That occasion being “wipe on heroic for a while until the stars align” cause the balance was atrocious.

Bachekochiye, who made this thread, clearly mentioned that he wants it for rewards, though, so I’m trying to stay on topic instead of going on another RDF vs no-RDF crusade.

Hopefully with ICC was it was originally. I have no desire to touch wotlk until it’s in.

With vanilla I fully understand why summon stones and LFD aren’t in but by TBC and especially Wrath the focus shifts dramatically away from the world and to endgame instances. It makes sense to make those more accessible.

Plus I flat out refuse to ever quest through Northrend again, single biggest cluster of the worst zones and quest design this game has ever seen. Until LFD comes in I’ve just got my 80 paladin camped out for Cata or a retail transfer. Whichever comes first. If LFD comes in though then I absolutely plan to use it to get some heirlooms for cata.

I just really don’t see the need for it.

I would hate it if it became cross-server like the original one. That takes a way the whole incentive to socialize- I really disliked that so much in the original game.

You may say we don’t talk much now, but for me the atmosphere is totally different. There is SOME talking, and there is some incentive to help eachother out.

I like how some of the teammates are the cool guy who brings the wormhole to the instance, I also rather have having to get to dungeons then to warp into them right away. I like being the one “im close to the dungeon anyway” and start the summoning process.

It is all these things made convenient, which took a lot of fun out of wow for me. I think all these ‘chores’ are essential to have a good gaming experience.

You can’t force people to socialize, they have to do that on their own.

As is incredible evident by the current dungeons in Wrath Classic.

You CAN force people to socialize, by gating loot behind socialization (since loot seems to be the biggest driving force behind the average player’s actions). It’s probably not a decision Blizzard would want to take, though.

Name a singular game that’s done this.

I have not played enough MMOs to be able to answer that, but it was more of a theoretical take. I can imagine some really old MMOs having been like that, but can’t say whether any were or not.

That’s because it hasn’t been done, and I don’t think it even could be done.

And if by some miracle you found a way to mechanically make this work people would simply nope out of it.

I started my MMO playtime with Ultima Online and no, it wasn’t remotely like this.

You even lost everything you wore when you got killed in PvP and it still wasn’t like this.

It would be greatful if Blizzard made an RDF with the feature to search for Normal, HC, HC+, HC++, HC+++. Then the game would immediately become more interesting and better by 1000%. I think there is nothing better than RDF. Also, the only thing that confuses me is the difficulty of obtaining Shadowmourne. I hope they make it easier to get this legendary.

Probably never, we don’t need it, LFG tool is just fine. If you just want to AFK in big cities and spam dungeons while being ported to the entrance, Retail is best suited for you.

They made it pretty easy, its called credit card gaming. Buy WoW tokens = easy legendary.

There will be a RDF option where you queue for Shadowmourne and after sitting in an empty instance for an hour each party member gets a Shadowmourne of their own.

Nice idea :+1:t2:

HvH is an enchanced Merc mode from Warlords of Draenor 6.x.x. Why was it added to TBCC? To appease Horde majority. Or are you assuming Blizzard intended #nochanges in all aspects of the game? At least with RDF they are faithful to original content flow.

Yes, bg was simply “unplayable”. I really didnt mind that HvH mode, i dont really care about lore or who i fight, i just wanna play the game.

I also never understood those who cried about the HvH mode, how it affects them in a negative way is beyond me (funny enough, same goes for RDF upto regular heroic).

I think you are missing my point, you cant use the arguement “it wasnt added until ulduar/toc/icc patch, therefore it shouldnt be added before then”.

The fact that we have hc++, shows us that this isnt a replica of OG wotlk. Therefore we could have gotten RDF from the start.

I assume by this that you dislike hc++ then? And sidereal essence vendor?
Since that is definitely not faithful to the content flow.

Personally I didn’t mind the queues. Back in Classic I even enjoyed them, since they broke up the monotony of some activities - fish for 1,5 hour, then fight in AV for another 1,5. I didn’t mind HvH either, but mostle because this mode was added in TBC where BGs didn’t matter anymore and AV was gutted and nowhere nearly as fun to play anymore.

Well, you are ofc entitled to your own opinion.

But having to wait 1.5 hours for a bg pop, is actually insane. Its completely okay for you to want to fish, without being disturbed, but wouldn’t it make more sense for you to fish and then when you are tired you could just queue up and basically get instant pop?

Not to mention, if you sat 1.5 hour in queue, and went for a quick wc and the queue popped while you were gone.

Ill admit i do miss the old long AV battles on the bridge (as a caster), but ill sacrifice that any day for faster queue times.

Neither was gold tokens, you never have a good point you do you?
