Where have all the cool characters gone?

Genuine question that ive been dying to ask for a while, what’s happened to the characters with actual presence and personality?

  • Bwonsamdi

  • Denathrius

  • Iridikron

  • Thrall

  • Lilian Voss

  • Mekkatorque

We used to have characters like these who owned every scene they were in, clever, and unpredictable. Now it feels like we’re getting pushed toward much safer, flatter characters like:

  • Anduin

  • Xal’atath

  • Turalyon

And honestly… i personally think they are just boring in comparison. They move the story along, but they don’t carry it musth and there’s no excitement when they show up. Where are the schemers manipulators the ones playing the long game?
