I’m thinking about which character to level. I’m talking about a possible transition to Cataclysm in the future. Which character is the most fun in both PvP and PvE? I’m thinking about fire mage, affli lock and rogue. I’ve never played these characters, only rogue for a while.
Fire mage is fun and strong, but only when you start getting gear. At the start of every expansion it’s basically Arcane PVE and Frost PVP. Cata is no exception, you don’t swap to fire until you have a nice chunk of Firelands gear.
Affli lock is strong all round, and whilst rogues are also strong, it’s harder to find a raid team as melee. That said, rogues are always godmode in pvp.
My main is Warlock.
As for most fun after that i’d say Rogue, DK, Hunter, Shaman
Honorable mentions is probably
Shadow priest & Boomkin as well.
I mostly only consider for raiding tho.

Shaman, play a DK and you get called a bot.

Shamans are a nice mixture of finesse and raw, bludgeoning power. You’ll be welcome in groups be great in PvP, and extremely versatile whatever you turn your hand to.
He can skip the middle man and just get his own dk bot; Blizzard clearly isn’t making any effort to stop people.

Going by what is most popular DK bots seem to be the most “fun”.
