I was speaking with a friend about how Pandaria wasn’t really all that liked when it came out despite the general praise it receives now. It was seen as way too goofy compared to the rest of WoW.
Nowadays of course, Pandaria is pretty widely praised with it’s faction war focus, beautiful zones, and beloved characters.
This brings into question… Which expansions are not liked as much nowadays that could end up being seen in a far more positive light?
Personally, I think I’m already seeing somewhat of a shift with BFA as it approaches it’s 10 year anniversary in a few years time, I’ve seen a lot of praise for it’s major focus on the faction war, Zandalar & Kul Tiras, with the only major downfall being the ending with N’Zoth and some of the borrowed power.
So… Which expansions could the WoW community switch up on? Will we see a whole lot of love for TWW in 10 years time? Midnight?
Something about this from a Dracthyr made me chuckle.
“Yeah I’m from the Dragon Isles doesn’t mean I gotta like the place, couldn’t get to that boat to Stormwind fast enough man”
It’s funny I loved Wrath at the time but going back to Wrath Classic was horrendous. Nothing wrong with remember anything fondly but that doesn’t mean I want to go back or have the systems of then.
I enjoyed WoD which many hated. Yes there were issues ofc. And it had a huge content drought at the end.
Pandaria and Legion are the absolute best, I could replay either one a thousand times and still would enjoy it
And the first half of Dragonflight before we had to wander udnerground to that godforsaken place zaralek caverns and to be honest the “Dreaming” wasn’t a joyride either, more like a disapointment
But the first part? It was and still awesome
I played back through Dragonflight recently and I gotta agree, the initial storyline was fun. It felt like a return to form with just a fun simple adventure after Shadowlands
Shadowlands for sure. It salvaged the damage BFA did to no degree. I am glad it happened the way it did. No other expansion expanded so hard on the cosmology.
BFA felt like the last real WoW expansion to me. Great zones, war mode was active and the Horde vs Alliance storyline was never as compelling as it was then.
I guess PvErs hated it because of the RNG azerite powers/island expedition grind they forced themselves to do but I liked it a lot as a casual pvp/story enjoyer.
BFA set a huge pile of brown dung on the Horde. It is quite possible that can never be repaired. Unless they finally make the alliance lose the war. But that will never happen since all alliance players are a bunch of crybabies who throw a hissy fit at anything that shows them as anything else then being perfect dogoods.
