Which part of my PC would be best to upgrade to improve wow FPS?

Hiya guys,

WoW runs pretty well on my PC but i’d like to make it a tad smoother on the higher end settings and would like to know which part would be the best to upgrade first and see the best improvement.

Current specs are:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-9100F CPU @ 3.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
GFX: Gtx 1650
HDD (Needs an upgrade to an SSD, also wondering how much of an improvement that will be.)

Please let me know your suggestions
Thanks

SSD IS a huge improvement on wow loading times, I cannot stress it enough.

RAM speed is more important than size, 8GB RAM at an average speed is usually fine for wow.

Upgrading your HDD to SSD and your CPU should see a considerable change.

EDIT: This all being said… I run wow with an RTX 2080 TI and an i9-9900k, 32GB 3666MHz RAM and still only pull around 100 FPS in zones, dropping down under for packed areas. WoW is poorly optimized…

For 1080p high settings you could upgrade the GPU a tier or two, but IMHO best would be to go 1440p or 1440p ultrawide alongside a GPU upgrade.

The other thing - for CPU bound scenarios (WoW has it a lot) high frequency high IPC CPU is essential. If you want to keep your board then one of 9th gen K CPUs, if you want go all in - Zen 3 CPU - but that would need new mobo, likely new faster RAM (depending what you already have) and alike.

And overall SSD really shortens any load times.
