Why did you choose to play the race your main is?

I’m a true believer in astrology and as a Cancer I immediately fell in love with the night elves as they worship the moon (Cancer’s star sign is ruled by the moon) - I also love their hippie/forest aesthetics and their love for nature and animals. I just feel like I could relate to them more than any other race so far.

I’m also a dancer in real life so I chose monk as a class because it gives me warrior-dancer vibes (I know its martial arts but in my head instead of doing a Spinning crane kick I’m actually spinning like a ballerina)

The Farstriders sounded interesting, then I did the Quel’Danas Sunwell bombing quest, heard the music (Seriously, check it out, if the Silvermoon city music really hit the carbs, necked some vodka and went out to pick a fight, that’s what it would sound like! :stuck_out_tongue: )and the Dragonhawk riders and how they cool they looked and went…Ehhh…RP Realm, I’m gonna play one of them!

That plus I’ve always kind of liked Elves from legend. But lets be clear here, I don’t mean tree hugging Hippy Legolas rip off’s. I don’t mean Tolkien’s watered down versions, I mean proper Myth and Legend Elves, Tuatha de Danaan, Aos Sidhe, Twlwyth Teg, Lios Alfar and Drok Alfar and Svart Alfar.

Know what is closest to our real life myths and legends of Elves?

Yep. Blood Elves.

Was a no-brainer for me at that point. This said I pretty much like every race in the game…

I just want to point out that we’re now at 102 replies and not a single person has said the word racial yet.

I like that. This is how I hoped covenants would turn out.

I know there are people who pick their race because of the racial, but they’re rarer than you might think.

I mean, I specifically said it was because of Arcane Torrent, same with others, they just didn’t use the word Racial.

There are other reasons tho. Armor looks better on Belf than on Tauren

Okay, fair enough - but in all those cases there was another reason, too. Except for Rompuche?

Dhoobs, for example, literally just says “Arcane Torrent” - but let’s not forget it’s literally the only choice she had - she plays DH on the Horde.

Fair point. I assumed she meant between Nelf and Belf, but that is probably less likely, since most people have guilds/friends/raids that require faction specific

My main atm is a human hunter (would be hunter no matter what) but she is human for 2 racials

Diplomacy: Reputation gains increased by 10%.

The Human Spirit: You gain 2% more of all secondary stats (Haste, Critical Strike, Mastery, Versatility) from all sources.

Both help a great deal atm for my way of playing .

You might enjoy the Elves in the Netflix show “the Dragon prince” it’s basically about Humans vs Elves and it’s really good with good lore
