Why doesn't my transmog sell? :(

i have 500k worth of transmogs or close to it on AH but it doesn’t sell :frowning: should i undercut more?

Transmogs Selling depends on your realm. they mostly sell alot in realms such as Argent Dawn.

I’d say a very minor amount of the playerbase is willing to spend a lot of gold on transmogs. And majority of people who are looking to transmogs already have bought the ones they’d want/desire so that creates an even smaller pool to sell too, and out of that small pool many are there to buy and resell.

It depends on the tmog, a bunch of them are pretty simple to farm yourself so the collectors enjoy to farm it and get a ton of extra tmog while doing so.

You say 500k worth but is it really worth that much or did you just list some random mogs at really high prices then get upset that others didn’t think they were worth paying that much for? :woman_shrugging:

500k to you but 2g to everyone else is probably the reason they don’t sell.

May I ask where you got the 500k value from?

Just because the Undermine Journal says the EU average is a certain price, doesn’t necessarily mean it is selling at that price.

I have several items that other players are currently listing at 200k each. But mine just sit in my Bank alts bags, because there is no real demand for them.

Cosmetic Items such as Transmog and Pets are notoriously slow sellers. It can take months to sell these items. Most potential buyers will likely be farming the items themselves before paying the expensive price that some items go for on AH.

If you’re looking to make a quick buck, I would suggest getting into some DF professions.

i have the TSM addon, it tells me how much it’s worth.

Again, that doesn’t mean that it actually sells for that price. It just means that a listing has been seen at that price.

then how i should i go about pricing it then?

Mogs takes too long to sell - not worth trading on.

Without knowing what you’re listing, I can’t give you exact prices.

In general, it’s probably better than you prepare for the long-haul with the item, and be prepared to keep listing ever 12-24 (depending on your schedule).

And then be prepared to take offers on certain items.

For example I finished off a Mage set because I got fed up with farming a raid after a year and there was a BoE version.

I found a seller on a server where I had an alt I didn’t play very often and offered him a 3rd of the price he had it listed for (as that was all the gold I had on the server).

He took the price and was just happy to sell the item as he had 5 more to sell.

It’s good to have a collection of transmog to sell. But if you’re wanting to actually be making money whilst wait for it to sell, I would recommend that you get into professions as well.

let’s say i get the golden goose item by sheer luck would that particular high valued item sell quickly?

What’s the golden goose item?

This, it’s mainly collectors who do - and even then, it has to be a nice mog to sell for a lot.

Say, I have an Avool’s Sword of Jin listed on AD, for 9k (the market price), but as it’s not the prettiest mog it won’t be sold easily. People prefer to spend less, even if they are high on money I guess, or prefer player power even though it’s reset with each major patch.

It doesn’t help these are a one-time buy items of sorts. And since we have fewer and fewer newcomers lately, even less demand will be there for those BoE’s.

super rare items worth millions upon millions sometimes gold cap.

Well, I think you’re going to have to be more specific on that.

I’ll tell you now, I’m currently sat on 2 Gold caps on this account. And there is nothing on AH I’m planning on buying any time soon.

So not only do you need to rely on a player having a Gold Cap to spend (which is rare). You also need to have something they want to spend that kind of gold on. And there is a reason why players like myself have alot of gold, because we’re not wasting it on things we don’t need.

Trust me, you are searching for a needle in a hay stack.

If you want to make that kind of money, get into professions.

transmog price cannot be calculated like this cause they’re basically fashion items.
Its like real life, some people won’t leave the house without atleast a gucci bag under their arms and others wouldn’t even consider spending money when they can just use the plastic bag they got from the grocery store 5 years ago.

Some people will pay 100k’s for something someone might not even spend 100 on.
and both will spend nothing on that item unless they’re actively searching for it to complete a mog set at that time.

I have rouhgly the same amount worth of transmogs, I think I’ve sold for 30k gold at best, nobody buys anything.

Get platekini’s or stuff that is skimpy or really weird.

Some things may have a 1/1000 drop rate but are as ugly AF so won’t sell.

Transmog is about looking good not having rare stuff.

Also don’t forget the stuff that’s super overpowered in timewalking.

If no one is buying, it’s not worth 500k then is it!

Just because something is on the AH at x price doesn’t mean it will sell for that amount. If it’s not particularly rare then it’s not worth as much as you think it is.
