Think it was jaina who said ‘‘If this grain have already been shipped out… There is no telling how many who may be infected’’ And that is just how dire the situastion in Lordearon was.
It wasn’t just Stratholme. For all Arthas and Jaina knew… Kel’thuzad and his agents could have infected pretty much as many grain farmers they would have wanted too.
Also its important to remember that back in Wc3 there was no easy dispell spell for the plague. Like they made it appear in WoW years later.
In the end everyones worst fears where proven right. All of Lordaeron not just Stratholme where infected some way or another. When Arthas returned from Northrend*
King Theranas was already dealing with several outbreaks troughout the Kingdom.

They spat in the face of such a legendary character. This cinematic really angered me and many many others as they show utter contempt for him after giving the plot armour queen her butchered redemption story. But nothing for Arthas, especially as we now know he had no control over what happened to him. Disgusting

Lordaeron was always a messed up kingdom ever since Warcraft 2 ended and it’s due to many reasons.

Turalyon disappeared into the Dark portal, which means the racist Garrithos took control and lost us our elven allies and almost lost the Dwarf allies too.

Despite Calia being older than Arthas, they treated her like trash just a pretty face to be married off into nobility against her own will. So female royals had it worse basically, this was removed when Sylvanas took control and became Queen.

Arthas was soo not ready to take the throne, he was pushed into learning how to fight very early despite him complaining to Uther about his doubts.
Jaina was the only sane one who took the survivors to Theramore, and even then she wasn’t a native to Lordaeron.
I lost all respects for this kingdom after Warcraft 2 ended. I’m not going to say Stormwind is any better, but at least they did a better job than Lordaeron ever did. Treating elves with kindness and giving them refuge, even after Garithos advised against it. giving the Dwarves their own district, great leaders like Varian, etc.
Arthas is big because of the warcraft 3 and it’s expansion TFT. Those games laid the foundation of wow. That story started with Arthas as a young paladin and ended with him becoming the Lich King. While those games had also other important characters, you played as Arthas more than any other.

And then King Anastarian considered it a ‘‘Human problem’’ All up to the point it arrived to his own borders.
i am aware, the elves were like that even in Warcraft 2. At first they refused to join the Alliance then Alleria came with the news of the Amani joining the Horde. At that point sylvanas was pissed because her mother died by the Amani and the elf council are so full of themselves that they dont even care. the elves council didnt listen so Sylvanas threw a troll’s head in the court which shocked them. Elves were always kinda… full of themselves, until death came and wiped them out by 90%
