Why Sargeras will be the last titan

I’m not going to write a thesis but this is what I feel and think will happen in the events leading up to The Last Titan, including Midnight:

  • Xal’atath manages to reach the world soul through the darkwell - we all saw her go down, along with her void army).

  • N’zoth will be summoned there to corrupt and feed off Azeroth, as part of Xal’atath’s bargain with him (lorewalking). We saw the blade of the black empire pierce through Alleria where supposedly the Old God was held after Wrathion stabbed him at BFA.

Here is where it will get really interesting:

  • The corruption becomes so great that Algalon calls the Titans to Azeroth. We defeated him in Ulduar as a secret final boss, but we the players, convinced him that our world is worth saving.

  • The fact that Northrend and Ulduar will be the main focus of The Last Titan, this would make perfect sense.

  • When the Titans arrive to Azeroth, Sargeras and Illian are nowhere to be seen - probably in a separate prison.

  • The Titans reveal their true plan, which is the siphon off Azeroth’s essence to keep getting stronger and keep Azeroth at bay. They are afraid she would overthrow them since she is the most powerful of all world souls.

  • We seek out Illidan to ask for his help, along with Sargeras. We already know that Sargeras is against the void - he literally amassed a fel army to destroy it. He even wanted to avoid Azeroth falling to corruption by trying to eliminate her.

  • Another legion crusade will take place, but this time we will fight alongside Sargeras’s minions.

  • Sargeras manages to get his sword back (wouldn’t it be cool if Azeroth fuses her soul with the sword to kill the titans?) and eliminates them all, saving Azeroth. Also, what if the sword was aimed at Azeroth herself to fuse her power with his? We all know what happened to our artifact weapons at the end of Legion - we used them to remove all the power left in the sword by draining ours.

Sargeras was the only being who managed to kill the titans and can do it again. With the titans gones, Sargeras will be the last true titan.

We’re redeeming frickin’ space Satan? Yeah, sure, at this point I’ll believe they’d write that… whatever you’d call it.

wasn’t the bargain already fulfilled? the champions manipulated in a way to free n’zoth in BFA, then Xal’atath freed from the dagger, undoing the magic that trapped her in it by the old gods as shown in the lorewalking

I wouldn’t mind the old gods coming back but I don’t think they have an interest in helping the void Xal’atath represents get to the worldsoul they want for themselves.

Uhm, sorry, but…Argus…

Tbf Argus was a wretched, tormented thing that we can assume was not ‘properly’ born in the way the rest of the Pantheon was.
