The bottom you mentioned was BfA. Stripped away Legion AW systems that made specs unique, short beta left shamans and hunters deal with their undertuned unfinished state at BfA release. Other classes got unnessesary skull squish rework and felt gutted. Blizzard added worse parts of AP grind back, primary game progression system switched borrowed power every patch with Azerite armor and corrupted gear being biggest offenders. Azerite armor was not even close to traditional tier sets it supposed to replace and corrupted gear doing 70% of your damage as RNG that didn’t depended on your skill, made pros and casual rage quitting alike. Add morally gray story wrighting on top of that with lore being butchered left and right and you get worse expansion than WoD that was simply abandoned and stripped of content it supposed to have due to recources redirected at OW1 release at that time.
Cata and WoD worshipper, is this real or trolls on this forum are out of control? BfA had twice content of what WoD was and you must be smoking something lately if you think they will add new content to WoD when they release it. Omg…

They already said they are willing to speed up expansions. 4 - 6 months of WoD would not feel as barren, besides the content they did ship was pretty good.
Also, Cata, MoP and WoD had imo the best gameplay by far. It’s not even close.
I worship MoP as it was pretty decent expansion with good balance and no forced player retention systems.
As for WoD I never said I admire it, just that it needs all content it was cut during switch of main team recources to Overwatch 1 polishing, before it’s release. Also I do not know where you took that I love Cata, it is on the way to MoP and I skipped it after Wrath, so why not give it a try untill DS as Fire lands were pretty much OK.
BfA had twice as much meaningless content with player retaining systems, like Azerite grind that were imposed on raw unfinished class reworks, noone asked for after Legion. If only early MoP daylie grind hater knew what they would be up against in early BfA 
when they would be leashed to APAzerite grind in endless FOMO race. And then Blizzard started experiments scrapping one borrowed power system in favour of more insane one every damn BfA patch, completly loosing development direction. If you call that a content, well good luck in BfA Classic.
Best expansion hands down. Best balance between grind, good gameplay, good pvp, good raids and enough content.

I don’t know but I have bit of nostalgia for BfA, maybe 2018-19 were good times but even with grind game was decent enough to keep me logging on and playing. I really enjoyed zones, main hub cities, quests, dungeons and raids. In my book BfA is way above than WoD, Cata and Shadowlands. It’s not as bad as people remember or want to make it look like.
