Can anyone explain me something about the Lore of Winterspring, as I’m really confused. Haleh in Dragonflight expansion claimed that Winterspring was a home for Blue Dragonflight for a long time. I checked the Wowwiki classic, and there was a sentence that Winterspring is a home for blue dragonflight. In Warcraft 3, the Winterspring was a hub for the Night Elves as well, there was a mission to awaken Druid of the Claws, also Winterspring is the only way to Mount Hyjal, which was a definitely a settlement of night elves, so there musted be some caravans, moving traders etc.
The question is: The Krasus in the War of the ancient book mentioned, that all dragons thought that Night Elves died after Great Sundering, so how is it possible, that Winterspring was a home for NE and Blue dragons, and dragons did not know about NE existence?
I know, Krasus was the Red Dragon, but he mentioned clearly that all dragons thought that NE disappeared.
This is a common choice by Blizzard. Night elven lands have often been conquered, surrendered, shared, destroyed, given to neutral organizations or as you said they forgot Night Elves are even there. I wouldn’t be surprised if the restored Winterspring received a large goblin city and a dragon citadel, while the NE only got a few hunting huts. After all, it’s impossible for the writers to imagine the Kaldorei lived anywhere other than the forests full of sunrise.
yes, I can imagine Blizzard doing a goblin city not just in Winterspring too, but as well in Ashenvale with orcs, who will cut off the last tree. It’s annoying how they destroyed my favourite race and their territories…
If the orcs remain in Ashenvale, it would be the height of favoritism. At the start of WoW, I understood orcs concerns about a lack of resources. They did it because they had to, even if it was controversial. But in this era of WoW, it makes no sense. The Horde has Mulgore, Zandalar, Highmountain, Lordaeron, Silvermoon, and many other outposts, as well as the best merchants on the planet. Even long distances no longer matter, as we used portals for less important tasks.
Of course, this will also show night elves as failures if they cannot even throw the invaders out of their own forests for years.
The Dragon Aspects and their flights were established some 5,000 years or so prior to the rise of the first night elves. As the events are described in regard to Winterspring specifically, it used to be a home for the blue dragons long ago.
And Haleh is the only one notable in her dutiful efforts in the region.
With so many years of potential developments, I’d argue there’s plenty of possibilities.

I’d imagine that the zone was abandoned either before or with the Sundering.
And due to its historical value and Haleh’s role as the last living consort of Malygos, she had some stake or responsibility to her kin to make it safe and presumably habitable again.
it’s strange, knowing the flights and night elves seemed to communicate even in those times.
Blue dragons around Azeroth seem to have migrated to the Dragon Isles due to their small numbers and safety concerns. I wonder if they return there after future world rework
