There is a huge bug affecting potentially all Paladin specs in PvP. I tested it as Retribution and it is confirmed.
Your PvP ilvl scale does not scale word of glory up, hence equipping higher ilvl PvE gear scales Word of Glory healing.
Grab PvE gear and test it on skirmish before gates open. Our “supposed” 411 ilevel WoG heals are around 43k in tooltip but they heal 30k in reality. If you wear any PvE gear higher than the base ilevel of our PvP gear, this heal starts to scale towards 40k.
So there are 2 options, either Blizzard fixes this or we must start mythic raiding in order to make our Word of Glory button stronger in PvP.
This is NOT due to the 30% reduced wog effectiveness in PvP like the other commenter said, this is actually a bug. Why would wog hit harder in PvP when you use PVE gear that doesn’t scale? It’s because WOG is not scaling with PvP item level.
Ok i just entered a BG, changed 4 items i had at ilvl 376… one of them replacing my 424 ilvl conquest weapon.
With the pvp items i do 30-32k WoGs
When i replaced with the 4 pve items i did 25-27k
I only bothered to test before the game starts when i can spam WoG.
So what are you guys on about?
Edit:
Tooltip outside BGs with full pvp gear on WoG - 28864
Tooltip inside BGs with full pvp gear on WoG - 43338
Tooltip inside BGs with pve/pvp gear on WoG - 37611
1: You havent explained what the bug is, just taken the word of what someone said.
2: OP mentioned something about pvp gear not scaling as it should… this is false from what i see. Nor does he mention the ilvl of the pve gear he is using, the values he gets, the values he should get nor how much of %-wise he thinks its bugged.
And Finaly 3: If there is a bug, blizz wont fix it until mid or late expansion. Just like our placeholder talents that heals for 300 etc.
Was an example of one of the placeholders in the tree. Btw its still a placeholder because they couldnt balance and therefore nerfed it into obscurity instead of replacing it as they should have. Its a talent for none, adding 1% leech debuff would have been better but thats not a paladin like stat.
Other placeholder talents are:
Both aura talents - They should all be baseline
Most talents Related to Steed - Same as above
Turn Evil - Same as above
Golden Path - Could be merged with any number of the other 8 talents especially when the heal is so pitifull
Seal of Mercy - Same as above
Incandecence - Same as above
Touch of Light - Heals to little, procs to rarely
Obduracy… This was added just to mock us right?
Then there are all the dmg % increase talents like
Seal of the crusader
Hallowed ground
Seal of Reprisal
Of Dusk and Dawn
Seal of Order
The last 2 i mentioned are the important ones to have but they arent well liked talents. But after you take away the meaningless placeholders as i would call them, do you see how barren the tree actually is?
