Updated: 02.03.23 - Hello there,

The fact you clicked on this hopefully suggests you’re either a fan of PVP, Twinking or both (However, you’re most welcome to read this if you don’t fall into that bracket - hopefully this post will convert you). I’ve seen a number of posts and requests in the forums lately about reviving lower level PVP.

Over the last couple of months, there has been a noticeable push and interest from the Era community in reviving ‘Twinks’. Ranging from people who’ve had them parked ever since Era was released, through to those who’ve only just heard about it and are farming Shadowfang Keep over and over again for that one specific drop.

Back on the 14th of January, we had our first 10-19 BG pop, which is a huge testament to the PVP community and the ‘Twinks’. Two weekends ago we had 3 games pop, of which one lasted over an hour.

So, I thought it best to provide the community with a brief update on it all, for those who might be interested in starting (Bananoid, I’m looking at you).

Horde: (Nothing yet, due to smaller Horde Population on PVE Cluster).

Level Bracket

Currently, we’re working on the 10-19 level bracket. This is realistically the easiest and simplest bracket to work towards, barrier to entry is relatively low, gear is easier to acquire and generally speaking doesn’t require a huge time sync to make it viable.

This does not mean that we won’t look to expand, however much like the 60 PVP initially pushing for WSG and then expanding, we’re looking to do the same with level brackets.

Population

The biggest thing we’ve found in these last few weeks is that we’re needing more participants from the Horde side of things. More and more people are levelling / gearing, in addition to a number of us with multiple accounts trying to have both a Horde & Alliance twink, to multi-queue to initially aid in activity and getting BGs to pop!

Before the “Where’s the fun queueing to get absolutely farmed by twinks”… the whole point here is to rebuild twinks again, as in 10v10 twinks, not 10 twinks vs 10 non-twinks. A number of us don’t have the time to gear full T3 at level 60, so we know how it feels to have people farming us over and over in PVP on undergeared characters.

Within the Twink discord, you’ll find a number of us who are willing and wanting to help others with gearing/dungeon runs etc etc, to help grow this community.

In turn, this should also help the 10-19 bracket grow in general - meaning yes, there might be the odd BG where you have 1 or 2 twinks against you, but you aren’t coming up against full pre-made groups and you’ll likely have 1 or 2 twinks with you.

For anyone interested, please reach out to myself or anyone you see online within any of the guilds list above. Alternatively, search out those Discords and you’ll be able to look for others that are just getting started with their twink, those who are swapping or trading BOE’s or helping to run others through dungeons etc.

No matter what you think, the fact that Classic Era has been able to get even a singular 10-19 BG going again, says a lot for our community and a lot about the direction in which this game is going.

Lets continue seeing Era go from strength to strength.

which many may not immediately consider
Especially at the beginning it is often really tedious to start without items in vanilla and the selection of items especially in the first 20…25 lvl is often really meh
I was always happy to be able to jump into the wsg on lvl 17…18…19, fight a few laps for the flag and then be able to pick up really strong items without real effort
it’s also just fun to run the map with the little one next to the main

Feels gr8 twinking in Classic Era compared to Retail…So many twinks made over the years, so many hours invested just to see them become obsolete with a new patch or expansion.

The twinks you make in Classic Era is here to stay, and your twinks will stay forever BiS<3

A friend and I are getting our lvl 59 twinks ready for world pvp until we get the bracket to open. With population surge, twinking will definitely come back to classic era, only a matter of time!

i would love to make some Wpvp eve anytime, an 19s Battle around xroads or westfall etc
i know we call out Saturday for Que but I will join everyday if I’m online

if the hardcore server could join bg’s without it counting as a dead, that would probably help these brackets aswell

Nice to see that twinks are coming back! I will join on my fresh lvl 19 hunter (horde). Some friends wil join with me. Just need the trinket and some honor gear. And then ready to go

Twinks are only viable to people that already got a main and can fund their twinks but since the people starting now like me dont have a main theres no point for us in trying playing against twinks. A good effort but only for a small % of players.

True, you can’t face a full geard twink but if you join on lvl 60 any map you can’t beat anyone too
Most you meet got full enchanted PvP gear or Tier 3
Battlegrounds are not a Duel and it happens on teamplay
If you go on lvl 18 or 19, use some good greens, maybe a dungeon loot wp and hide a bit behind your team twinks, you will still have some fun
If you just play one map you will be able get after resett your PvP trinket, tabard and first title
i would grab the wsg quest and Que as long I need to get 3 tokens to finish the quest and try out my class in PvP
Hunter, Priest, Pally are classes who don’t need BiS for be viable on 19

I see your point, however there’s a few points I’d like to caveat that with which might also help take away some of your concerns.

As overpowered as twinks are, we currently aren’t having 10vs10 of pure twinks, so those who still have good gear but may not be entirely “twinked” are still able to compete. There’s a number of people who aren’t amazingly geared, but they’re fantastic players and know how to do call-outs, target healers, CC etc etc.

Those people are primarily geared through dungeon drops / quest rewards, along with those of us looking to help grow the community, offering items to people. At one point I think I had about 3/4 pairs of the Forest Leather Bracers/Boots and gave them away. They aren’t BIS twink, but they most definitely are viable.

What I’m trying to say is, if you’re struggling, those of us around you will do our best to help. Likelihood is we won’t give you a Shadowfang with Crusader on, but we’ll happily run you through Deadmines to get Cruel Barb etc.

So, whilst levelling your main, don’t be afraid to create a character to twink and come join us. Plus, the more people who join, the more frequent queues, the busier the 10-19 bracket becomes for everyone.

Deezy is right, if anyone would like join the 19s PvP we would help get loot and some viable enchants like fiery wp etc
that’s not expensive but one of the best wp enchants who are possible
