From the forum activity. 90% of activity is the same 40 or 50 posters over and over again. If there were a million players left in the eu they would constitute a mere 0.005% playerbase.

Even more telling is the lack of views. Even the most popular non-stickied threads have a few thousands views (many of which will be non unique repeats). Whilst I can accept that only a small % of the player base will actually post, I would estimate the viewing activity would be far higher but it does not seem to be the case.

I don’t know any official game forum that lives up to your claims.

Most visit a forum if they are unhappy with something or stuck and need help.

There are a number of regular posters but it’s a teenie tiny proportion of the playerbase.

After all these years… why would people even bother going to this or any wow-related forum? You get ignored most of the time and insulted for almost nothing these days.

Not that I post alot, mostly a lurker myself.

I think most people are just waiting for 8.2 right now, nothing much to discuss yet! :slight_smile:

Most people do not hit the forums they are in game, yes WOW does have less people than before but forum activity is not an indicator of that.

Plus it is summer and many Europeans are on holiday and not at home playing WOW right now.

Plenty of people, maybe even the majorty, that plays the game don’t even come to the forums. They just play the game and that’s it.

That’s a normal amount of activity for a gaming forum, nothing less nothing more.
The activity on it is even quite high.
Forums will have less activities than well-known actuality/guides website or reddits / discord as they are more trendy and gives you really fast answer without the need to interact with people.

Also people simply play the game and don’t care about forums

Umm, you are forgetting that most of the EU players are using German, Russian French, Spanish and Italian forums, not English forums.

I don’t think I have ever experinced the WoW forum being a place where the activity was as high as a forum with sub-forums all over the place.

10 years ago it was also the same posters, and the same lvl of activity.

We also have an unknown number of people who are looking without posting or even are logged in.

Maybe for the sake of activity, we all should take on 1 or 2 personalities/ekstra chars and write from them :thinking:
And no cheating, don’t peek on achievements or pets to lure out who is writing now :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Everything I would have replied is allready stated by the posters above, though I would like to add, that also the fact that the EU forum get ignored a lot by the Dev’s might have some impact on the activity.

well wow forums has never had lots of players talking at all, always been a minority.

there is some games that have a huge pool of people writing, but what I also noticed here is that, most of them are trolls who got multiple accounts to annoy others on.

Forum like this will never attract a lot people. Firstly because of questionable moderation. I personally got 2 suspension without any stated reason other than “violating code of conduct”. Still dunno what and where i wrote wrong. Secondly because of very strict rules about offtopic. Discussing few “allowed” topics gets old really fast, while everything deemed slight offtopic gets closed and deleted. So in the end people prefer other places to discuss wow.

PS: Even when wow had 10+ million subs forums were just as dead, because of those same reasons.

You know in an active game…a good game you wont see many ppl on forum because most of them are in game playing, not everyone likes to post on forums unless they have some issues or questions to ask.
