Sargeras was trying to destroy the Void, as he said to the Eredar before he recruited them. Fast-forward 25 000 years later, and Burning Legion uses Shadow / Void magic. Why though?

He doesn’t want to destroy the Void, he doesn’t even want to destroy the Void Lords, I think he knows that he cannot defeat them. He just wants to make sure they can’t get into our dimension through a Void titan.
It’s smart of him to dabble into Void magic, after all using the power of the enemy against them is generally a good tactic.
