I wouldn’t say ‘fan’ no, but I don’t outright dislike them either. I just don’t really see them as MY characters usually.
The big exception now is Vulpera; I’ve made one that resembles my dog that I sadly had to put down 2 years ago; so that character has some added sentimental value for me. It helps that it’s horde, so it’ll always be an alt for me. I couldn’t see myself maining such a character.

Haha, I know what you mean, when I first picked up WoW, I thought the races all looked weird (aside from Human), I thought Night elves were very weird, with ears that were far too big and far tooooo long, and what was it with over long eyebrows.
No thank you I thought. Now look at me.

I main one, i hate it with all my heart
But the Crit + mana return are too strong to pass by…
Same as humans+nelfs, equally disgusting but a must have xD
The one and true bada$$ race is ofc Dwarf, next to it a big belly Kultiran male!
zandalari troll - i wish they had good racial for shaman in pvp. I like how they have a culturally powerful vibe to them.

I have an appreciation for all playable races, and have been everything at some point.
But my main love are Mechagnomes. Because to me they’re the most unique race going in WoW. They have Robocop racials, great lore, an amazing zone filled with a Tinker fan’s dreams, and on top of all that you can play a fully mechanized one if you unlock the heritage armour.
Plus we’re kinda rare as a result of being so niche. It’s nice to be somewhat of a rare sight
I wouldn’t even call them furries. Furries are a RL demographic which misbehaves in certain ways, the characters inGame are fantasy characters. If you let an innocent child play a fox creature, does it make them into a furry? I don’t think so.

Undead, because we have the best dance animation ever and also we used to have the best animations.
We also had better and more customization options before the new models.
Orcs, love their design, their lore, their voice. Trolls a close 2nd.
I play with the orcs,
they eat with spoons and forks,
they love to eat their pork

Blood Elves and Draenei for each faction. Lucky me they have the 3 classes I enjoy the most (paladin, hunter, mage).
I like everything about them really. Looks, lore, animations, racials. Although LFD has kinda made regular Draenei underwhelming a bit.
There is something to like in every race, they are all based on something popular although some are more unique than others.
Blizzard’s most Unique Races:
-
Night Elves - fusion of dark elf sorcerors and wood elves, based on night with stars and Moon - with a goddess - Never seen that done, and done well
-
Draenei - Demons, but like a closer to angelic version, and they’re hi-tech too, , and really religious, add to that the Atam’ai crystals, and the hooves, nice innovation.
-
Tauren - Minotaurs made a race, and with a twist, the persona of the calm, but very strong Ox, and very much in tune with the land.
Races based on Real life Cultures
- High/blood elves - Idealised humans
- Humans - humans
- Pandaren - Chinese mainly , but also Korean/Japanese traditions
- Trolls - Afro-carribbean ancient culture
Races based on Pop Culture Fantasy Races:
- Dwarves - Tolkein dwarves
- Orcs - D & D orcs but with a twist
- Worgen - Werewolf/Vampire world
- Forsaken - Zombie apocalypse world
- Gnomes - Garden gnome myth but with the tech twist to them.
- Goblin - classic fantasy goblin but with the twist of high intelligence, alchemy &
engineering
Allied Races aren’t listed because they are all part of one of these core races. In case any are confused, Void elves are from Blood elves, and Nightborne are from Night elves, despite being in opposite factions.

Orcs and dwarves. They resonate with me the most.
They live in harsh, unforgiving lands, but they have cozy inns and a cool culture. Eat, drink, smash and sleep.
Blood elves, because i like their lore and backround… also am very fond of the skinny barbies they have.
Males are kinda meme tho.

Nightborne. I love them as a race. I love the Highborne, and they’re essentially them but taken to an extreme. Their aesthetic is nothing short of breathtakingly beautiful, the music of Suramar and the art is perfect. The aesthetic of Arcane magic, silvers, purples and golds all together are brilliant. They’re also the most unique of the Elven races in appearance, and they look brilliant (player Nightborne uhhh… could use some work), and their armor and weapons are beautiful. Also because the Felborne are also awesome but that’s a side point. The second reason why I love them is because of their lore, this race that has only now seen the outside world, facing the tough choice between annihilation and subservience to the Legion they fought to protect themselves from 10,000 years ago. The whole questline in Suramar, insurrection, and all the memorable characters in the quests stuck with me (Thalyssra, Sigryn, Vanthir, Occuleth, Valtrois, Arluin, Arluelle, Victoire, Farondin etc etc etc). Their eventual joining of the Horde was also amazing, and their ties with the Blood Elves also puts them in my good books.
Last reason is less about in game and more meta, my first expansion was Legion, and the Suramar questline to me is what kept me playing the game in the endgame before 8.3, it was what properly gripped me into the universe of WoW and I still have a connection with Suramar, it’s such a nostalgic beautiful place to me, and the music of the zone alone makes me emotional.
That’s about all my Nightborne gushing done.
