Dear Blizzard Team,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent direction of World of Warcraft. Over the years, I have enjoyed the game as a way to spend an hour a day with friends, sharing adventures and completing content together. Unfortunately, the latest changes have made the experience increasingly frustrating and alienating.
The introduction of the “housing” feature, for example, feels more like a chore than a creative addition. Players spend more time trying to figure out what needs to be done step by step than actually enjoying the activity itself. Similarly, the so‑called “riddle quests” are nothing but a waste of time, forcing us to chase scattered objects across multiple expansions. This design punishes casual players who simply want to relax and play socially.
The Legion Remix event was another turning point. It fragmented the player base so much that completing the current expansion has become nearly impossible. Instead of fostering community, these updates isolate players, leaving those with limited playtime constantly alone.
To make matters worse, every patch seems to break something fundamental. It feels like a never‑ending cycle of relearning how to play the game, rather than enjoying it. The pace has become so dispersive and demanding that unless you rush through everything, you inevitably fall behind. The saddest part is that keeping up with the game now requires sacrificing social life, which defeats the very purpose of playing with friends.
What troubles me most is the direction World of Warcraft appears to be heading: towards the same predatory model as other games where progress is tied to in‑game purchases. That is not the WoW I once loved.
I have reached the point where my irritation outweighs my enjoyment, and I have decided to stop playing. World of Warcraft has become a dispersive, exhausting experience that no longer respects the time or social needs of its players.
Sincerely,
