Retail macOS: WOW519 Disconnect on Moving Platforms in Icecrown Citadel (100% Reproducible)
Summary
I have encountered a fully reproducible issue in World of Warcraft Retail (EU) where the game disconnects with WOW519 whenever my character boards certain moving platforms.
The issue started recently and now makes it impossible to complete Icecrown Citadel.
Environment
-
Game: World of Warcraft Retail
-
Region: EU
-
Platform: macOS Sequoia
-
Hardware: MacBook Pro 15" (2018, Intel)
-
Addons: None
Steps to Reproduce
Icecrown Citadel
-
Enter Icecrown Citadel.
-
Reach any moving platform inside the raid.
-
Board the platform.
I have tested multiple moving platforms inside the raid, including:
-
the elevator that becomes available after defeating Lady Deathwhisper (leading toward the Gunship Battle);
-
the moving platform after defeating Valithria Dreamwalker (leading toward Sindragosa).
Both platforms consistently reproduce the issue.
Orgrimmar
The problem can also be reproduced using the elevator in Orgrimmar.
Expected Result
The platform or elevator should transport the character normally without disconnecting.
Actual Result
As soon as my character boards or rides the moving platform, the client disconnects with error WOW519.
Icecrown Citadel
The issue occurs every time.
For the platform after Lady Deathwhisper, the disconnect happens immediately after using the elevator. Fortunately, this elevator can be bypassed by using the available portal.
For the platform after Valithria Dreamwalker, the situation is much worse. After reconnecting, my character remains standing on the moving platform. If I perform almost any action—including moving, turning the character, or even using my Hearthstone—I am immediately disconnected again with WOW519.
This creates a permanent soft lock because the platform cannot be bypassed, making it impossible to continue the raid.
Orgrimmar
The elevator also disconnects me with WOW519. However, after logging back in, I can continue playing normally.
Reproducibility
100%
The issue occurs every time I use these platforms.
Troubleshooting Performed
I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps:
-
I do not use any addons.
-
Reset the user interface by deleting the Interface, WTF, and Cache folders.
-
The UI reset fixed a secondary issue where my action bars disappeared after reconnecting, but it did not resolve the disconnect problem.
-
Tested both with and without my VPN (Red Shield VPN). The issue occurs in both cases.
-
The issue affects every character on my account.
Additional Information
An important observation is that I also have World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic installed on the same MacBook using the standard Battle.net installation.
On the same computer, operating system, and network connection, moving platforms and elevators work perfectly in MoP Classic.
The issue only affects World of Warcraft Retail.
The problem appeared only recently. Before that, Retail worked normally on this system.
If necessary, I can provide a video demonstrating the issue.
