Beta Build 8 August
Today we had our base healing and Herald [nerfed significantly] but I seriously question the validity of those nerfs as we still have several bugs that make our healing look much stronger than it really is. Much of our healing from Hero Talents heals pets and/or doesn’t get reduced beyond 5 targets as it should. We also still have the problem with the healing absorb from Light of the Martyr not being subtracted on Logs, which adds a ton of fake healing. Of course, that is a problem for Warcraftlogs and Details to solve, but combined with the bugs, it really just makes me doubt that Blizzard or anyone truly has a clear picture of our performance level.
My main problem with these nerfs is not that they are too large, but more so that they hit our base s-pot healing. I still think we will perform OK overall, but to introduce flat aura nerfs like these to a spec whose level of fun comes entirely from how strong our base spells feel, is frankly disheartening, and it is reminiscent of the post rework nerfs in Patch 10.1.5, that left the spec in horrible st-ate for more than two whole patches.
Blizzard have spent the last 6 months on the Beta introducing one great change after the other, and the feedback from players should be extremely telling. The spec feels absolutely amazing to play in the Pre-Patch, where we do not have any of the fluff from the Hero Talents, and it has felt fantastic to be able to move healthbars with our spot healing again, and these nerfs definitely hurt that feeling.
Some of the nerfs to things like Judgment of Light and Touch of Light are also just mindboggling as these were already extremely low value. But it is what it is I suppose.
