i tried it with -ns as an administrator. Did not work but worth a try. thanks anyway
gutted its not working but glad im not the only one with this problem hopefully they fix asap
Running the game.exe --help in terminal does not show anything.
I was expecting some help lines about what params it could be accepting.
I also tried adding -w ← did not work for me. (Remember the old days, ahh… we used -w to make the game run in window mode, so we could play in the office :) )
The fact it worked for Wytrep with -ns indicates (according to my opinion) an issue with their audio drivers / system.
I’ve read the requirements sheet - my video card is fine, but not one of the listed. I play D3, wow and other games on that PC with no worries.
Even if my hardware is incompatible with the game - I would expect a decent error message stating that.
I am definitely not buyn a new PC for a remake of an old game.
where did you find the exact list of the video cards what is compatible with the game? would you link please?
Err… not a list - when you click on “pre-purchase” and scroll down - there are requirements, and a minimum and recommended hw are listed.

I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected Beta and opened up blz-log.txt it stated that:
8/13 23:37:13.095 [EntityContainer/4] [<>:0]: EntityContainer: Component type FootprintComponent invalid! Dropping component from entity entity_root in data/hd/character/player/barbarian.json
But if i go into the data folder, there is no hd folder. Tried reinstalling the game but didn’t work. Don’t know if this is the problem, but wanted to report it.
My log file is e-m-p-t-y :(((

all textures not renderd…
OK i admit my laptop is old and technicly prob not met minimum req ateast in some point…
but i am able pla yother games like WOW, SC 2 diablo III so now i am not sure if error is on my side. But if i do not met minimum req i shoudl be able ateast start game right? in worst case i would get insame lag and super low fps but not back screen?
- i see i am not only one
Does anyone has Win 10 here? because Win 10 is in the minimum requirement but i actually try to play the game on Windows 7.
Yep. I am with Win 10 - activated, updated, groomed
Sorry to say this. But i am glad i did not want to buy a Win 10
i do win 10 but not sure about procesor or graph card tbh if i met minimum
my procesor is I7 4510U - 2.6 GHz
it shoudl be minimum liek on endge of minimum but still game shoudl start
i checked the minimum requirement and i am above it with my proc and video card too.
Not much higher but above so i guess it is not the source of the problem
Hah. Yes. Until it is known what is the root cause - no one’s byin anything
@Paganwitch - here you can compare processors.
ark.intel. com/content/www/us/en/ark.html#@PanelLabel122139
ark.intel. com/content/www/us/en/ark.html#@Processors
Whatever the reason is - an error shall popup and say "Hey, yo! This Graphic Card is a piece of mud, man! Get a new one! Now! " or “This CPU will fail the snail contest, change it!”
not just this sad “Unexpected error” screen - with nothing in the log file
Okay, so i made a shortcute to C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected Beta\game.exe"
and added -ns in the shortcut. Now the game does start. Hope that they’ll fix this soon, i want to hear this game!
Myself and a friend tried this game and we both get the same result with an immediate crash as soon and play is clicked.
Tried the -ns as suggested and it doesn’t seem to help, same error.
Its really unfortunate that this game was pre-ordered to try and its just not working.
I dont have a state of the art pc but I can play WoW, D3, starcraft as well as other games just fine with minimal lag.
Tried reinstalling as well as running a repair on the game with no result.
It seems this is becoming a very common problem. Please look into this issue so we can enjoy the game we pre-ordered.
If its a video issue or sound issue then the game should have the option of starting with reduced graphics or something
My blz-log.txt says: 8/13 17:02:54.380 [Biome/4] [<>:0]: The terrain layer is missing Albedo texture.
8/13 17:02:54.380 [Biome/4] [<>:0]: Failed to deserialize terrain layer from data/hd/env/biome/act2_frontend_biome.json.
But there is no hd folder. I would try and re-download and re-install but several people have tried this no success.
Does anyone else have the hd folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected Beta\Data ?
3 hours ago the game worked now it crashes EVERYTIME I load my Sorceress:

“Too many meshes” and “can’t find Bone”
How the hell is this a “BETA”???
The HD folder is INSIDE a file in the data folder.
hah “bone” is some new variable
I was trying to run it through a debugger, but it was too late to install Visual Studio, so I tried with windbg, and it always says “it wants elevation” and that was it. If someone has ideas what debugger to use, at least to see what is breaking it …
