Authenticator Mobile App Migration must be the most cunfusing thing ever

My day so far:

Get e-mail with news that authenticator app will no longer be supported, use new mobile app instead.
Download new mobile app, try to log in - it asks for code from authenticator app.
Authenticator app informs me that it is being discontinued, does not give me code, directs me to read more, and shuts down.
Manage to do security log in using sms code, remove 2FA from account.
Now can do full log in on new mobile app.
Try to activate 2FA in the new app mobile app, which promptly tells me I need to download the authenticator app…

Try to write ticket to battle.net, get the nususal crappy pre-determined answers from the site that tells me to download the authenticator app…

Yeah, “remove the authenticator app, but you need it and should download it again”.
This is where I gave up, no 2FA for me going forward. I don’t mind progress, but I do mind spending half my day jumping through hoops making it happen.
