Blizzard and its shitty refund policy

I bought Call of duty modernwarfare 2019 last tuesday on battlenet thinking it would be a good game
Low and behold when i launched it would run for a minute. i would let it finish installing the shaders and then it would freeze up, I would then have to close it with task manager but it would still say it was running in battle.net. I attempted it a few more times after that with no luck so i decided to attempt a refund. After going back and forward with blizzard support tickets i decided to contact my bank for a chargeback. Low and behold, It was revoked because blizzards If you run it at all you cant get a refund policy. I even sent a message in the blizzard support ticket on how it is refusing the return of faulty goods. I have attached a personal response from a certain employee.

me: I would like a refund on call of duty modernwarfare as it crashes when i launch it and unallows me to close it adding into the playtime
The game Call of duty Modernwarfare 2019 wont run
It kept crashing for hours
Then wouldnt even let me run it whilst battlenet thought it was
The game wont run
A statement of the Consumer rights: you have a legal right to reject goods that are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described, and get a full refund I bought call of duty modernwarfare 2019 thinking it was going to be a good game
When i launch it it crashes instantly Leaving my computer unusable for hours
I would like a refund
Or i will consider a chargeback

Blizzard support: Hi there,-----. I hope this finds you well.

I understand you’ve been having some trouble with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and would like to have it refunded. I know it’s not fun when your system doesn’t work well with a new game and you have to troubleshoot.

I did some digging to see what I could find for you. To give you some background, we have a very specific return policy depending on specific products. If your time played and time since purchase falls within that policy we can assist. If it does not, any refund made is an exception and refunds are not guaranteed.

When I looked over your account, I found that your purchase does not qualify for an exception to our policy. While we can’t be explicit in revealing the reasons, we do have to look at a number of different factors when we consider a faction, and this situation is not one where we would be able we make an exception.

Because the problems you’re experiencing are technical, I would highly recommend visiting the Activision support site to see if you are able to get the game working on your computer by troubleshooting with Activision in live chat. You can contact Activision here: supportactivisioncom

I know this isn’t what you were wanting to hear, and I know that right now this situation is frustrating. I hope that things change soon, though, and that you are able to enjoy the game before too long. Thanks for taking the time to reach out, and definitely let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

Take care and be safe.

The BS that i have gone through this last week and a bit is really annoying.
If the same thing happened with steam i would have gotten the refund already.
If blizzard cant simply give sombody a refund for faulty goods i dont even know how they are still somewhat popular
So i have decided to list a couple ways to avoid this:

1: Dont buy from blizzard/Battle.net
2:If you do use paypal As their chargeback policy is alot looser than most banks.
3:Buy a real copy.

I dont understand how blizzard gets away with this. Its a complete infringement on the return of faulty goods in the uk.

I bought vanguard 3 days ago and i cant play the campaign. I have it installed in the modify install options, but in game it says its not installed and is locked. Also the shader cache freezes at pack 1 - 71%. I asked them to release a patch addressing this issue or give me a refund, but they still haven’t replied. what do I do?

All i can recommend is waiting a couple days and if they dont reply Send out another ticket. If they refuse to give you a refund just threaten a chargeback. Sadly my debit card company didnt understand and wont give me a chargeback. Best luck to you

No.

The Customer Support service is swamped with tickets at the moment; the ticket response time is long… very long. A lot longer than the 24-48 hours normally seen. Although I haven’t seen any word from Blizzard Europe on this, wait times of 6 or 7 days for a reply is not unusual.

If you have already submitted a ticket, and you have a ticket number, then you need to wait. Sending another ticket while waiting on your ticket will only slow things down… both for you and the other players.
