Hey there people, I have some cool ideas for concocting new sets using legendary jewels (eg. rainbow facet) and socketing them into the right order into set items with sockets, creating a unique new set out of the old one.
This is how it works, if the jewel you have is put into the right normal, legendary or set item, the jewel gives the item a purple coloured bonus as seen on the item. The more jewels of the specified jewel altered set is put into the right manner of socketed items, the more bonuses will be added to each item equiped, and will add other abillities and passives. If all specific jewels of a certain jewel set are inserted into the correct items, the set items that you are wearing will be written in purple. If a jewel is not put into an item correctly you can extract it by using a cube item gathered in D3 for example, thus saving both the socketed item and the jewel that was put into it. New jewels can be gathered at each new season.
Okay so here comes the fun part. Say we want to only play with items that has a quality of normal (eg. elite, exceptional). By choosing this path you will need the best quality of normal items, as they will heavily affect your jeweled set. This also means that you will need to collect normal trinkets (rings and amulets), not seen in the Diablo franchise as of yet. The trinkets needs sockets and will also have the right order for the specified jewel. If correctly socketed into the trinket, bonuses will be much higher for the trinkets and will give a unique choice of passive or active bonus of the players choice.
Say we want to play with a sorcerers specializing only in cold elemental arts.
The jeweled normal quality set containing only jewels that support cold elemental builds for example will work well for her, as a normal socketed amoured build will only work for one element (cold in this case). If all normal items are socketed (you guys can choose if more than jewel can be inserted into an item), the gamer can choose the set’s name. Also if all items are worn, the gamer can choose a couple of super passives and/or active spells and 1 unique passive/or active spell. The purple bonuses of each worn item needs to be a lot, as this build will only support one build normally.
These jewels need to be rare as it needs to be an awesome late game build. Cubes need to be collected in large amounts, so as not to destroy both jewel and socketed item, after using one and unsocketing an item.
