Diablo 2 EU realm is STILL down [SOLVED NOW]

There seems to bean issue for Mac users
I’m on Mac OS 10.12.6 (16G2136) and 10.14.6 (18G8022).
Last succesful connection was August the 6th.
Login it won’t continue further than “connecting to battle.net” “Checking versions”
Been playing 20 years as well, and I’m a superuser at Mac, so there’s NO error at my end. Please fix this issue ASAP, as I need to log in to my accouns before they expire!

They don’t want Apple users.
you can’t download classic version of D2
you can’t download MacOSX version of D2
why? because you can’t buy D2r

I have the same issue

Info from other fan forum that might fix issue: There was server changes at blizzard over the weekend and if you had edited your hosts file previously, and now have “connecting to fastest server” issue, revert those changes to the hosts file. Europe connection is fixed for me by this.

This issue is still unresolved!
We are ONLY able to connect to the ASIAN gateway, where I obviously don’t have ANY characters…
I’m a strictly a legit user, and don’t change any files!
I just open the game and play, (which btw for years only has been possible by opening Diablo II as superuser through a command in Terminal… sort of tells you about the lack of support).
So… What can we do? Install it on a virtual PC?

My best idea is that EVERYONE with this problem goes through the small hassle of creating a support ticket, and post their valuable reactions here… I just made one… took me like 5 min.

If you don’t know how to make a trace, (there’s only a description for PC users), just add a blank text file called “tracert.txt”. You HAVE to add one to submit a ticket.
You also have to submit a “System Report”. Just click the Apple logo in the top left corner, and choose “About this Mac”. Then click the “System Report” button, and press “Command+S” to save the file.

I’ve tried Wine and bootcamp with pc version of d2 but don’t work.
Now I wait 48 hours from last try. but don’t think it work.
Buy a Pc , Apple is out from d2.

I’m not sure what you mean though.
Is the issue exactly the same?
Can you install LOD, and play on Asia, but not on Europe realms?
I don’t think that they will abandon Mac users completely… it would be stupid not to want 20% of all computer users in the world to play their games…

same issue here with mac Os Mojave.
I contacted technical support who advised me to follow the usual instructions such as reinstalling the game, etc…
But nothing about a general problem like that.
I really don’t understand what happened and why it’s so long to be fixed.
I’m quite disappointed.

I got this kind answer to my ticket:

"Game Master Ixzal here and sorry to hear about these Diablo 2 problems on Macs. We have received many similar reports and this is being investigated but we don’t’ have any workarounds or fixes at the moment.

As for the traceroute, it’s not necessary for this situation however the Mac steps are explained on the Traceroute article:

So… They are aware of the situation it seems, and I guess they’ll come around to a solution one day. I can’t say, that I have been impressed with their Mac support up to now… Many issues has been unsolved for years!! I hope they’ll solve this one soon though. I’ve got soooo many characters that will expire, if they dont!

Finally i make a successful log in with bootcamp and windows version of d2.
Not for play but i can save my accounts.
My opinion is they want Apple users out of d2.
don’t wait for a solution.

What is the timeframe for a fix on this…?!?
All my accounts must have run out by now!!

Just got this answer from support:

“Game Master Ixzal here again and unfortunately, we don’t have any updates on this situation. We also don’t have any way to refresh the duration of your characters or prevent them from expiring.”

… Now isn’t that just swell… No help at all.

haha nothing works still? i havn’t been able to play battle.net yet. only solo offline and that’s anoying af.

The issue is finally solved!
Finally able to log on EU realms again, for the first time in 18 days. and played with no issues. Wa beginning to think that if would nevver come back on again…
