Diablo 2 FTJG/Queue

Hi Blizz, returning player to diablo 2 and got friends to purchase and play.

Last night the queue got over 3,000 and everyone in lobby was failing to join. I was disconnected multiple times earlier in the afternoon and had to wait 10 minutes for the server to realize the drop and allow my character to enter a new game. The more I Google and read this the gateways have had this issue for months and the community posts shout of no response regarding this. Can a blizz employee speak to this problem and the cause or atleast acknowledge visibility of the problem.

I realize its an old game however its by far and away my favorite blizz game and im saddened it seems to have fallen from view.

If this is the state of things and the server is beyond solving is it possible to assist my friends with how to go about a refund of said purchase?

Its not a download speed issue its not an install problem it appears to be a server maintenance or load balance problem.
