My gf and I have been playing D2 again. I’ve been getting a very annoying bug though:
I can be randomly dropped from the game and get a “Your connection has been lost” warning. I will then be unable to create/join any games on just the character I was playing (that is to say I can create/join games on a different character). She will not dropped and we are on the same network switch.
Is this a known issue and does it relate to my install or account? How do I fix this?
A few days ago there was a server message in-game saying something like “Realm is going down in 10 minutes…”
And since that, the servers have been buggy. People can’t join or create games. Well they can, but it takes a few tries, 5,6, sometimes 10… Something happened after that realm down message but I don’t know what. But I know that it’s affecting all of us and it mostly happens during the evening/night time.
We need a blue post about this please.

I have the same issue as you. I’ve also returned to D2 with my gf, however we are both getting dropped from the game and cannot play on the dropped char for a while (have not measured how long, though).
Today my gf went to her parents, so we’re connected to different networks and ISP’s and the problem still persists.
The worst part about this bug that we experience about 10-20 minutes rollback of our characters. It’s really sad when something nice drops and then you lose it to this bug…

The way it happened to me was>
I was playing in hardcore, and I was having some lag so I quit the game… I wouldn’t want to die on hc and lose all progress.
After waiting for a bit, I tried to create a new game.
After a few seconds in the loadng screen, it prompted the ‘Failed to join game’ message and bring me back to the chat/join game screen.
Other characters work well and can create and join games no problem.
I disconnected from bnet, reset my internet conexion, and came back again to see that the issue persisted.
I am now waiting to see if this issue keeps going or is just a temporary problem.

Yeah, I know. But you can’t use ladder only runewords.
