Been playing overwatch since launch and haven’t had any problems with it, and out of nowhere I just got an entire month suspension despite never before committing offenses ingame, I’m just very confused because this is the first time i’ve gotten a ban and I got no warnings or indications and from what i’ve seen from streamers and friends is that there’s a chat ban system or most people usually get 1 day or a weeks suspension, I’m not really sure who to talk to because I 100% accept the decision to punish me but I really don’t understand how saying the word “r*tard” a few times would equate to the severity of an entire months suspension, I always assumed there was some kind of system in place that would be like, 1st offence: chat ban for 24 hours and 2nd offence 24 hours suspension, but it really does just seem they can give out month/year bans on first offenses, I’d be absolutely fine with a week suspension but a whole month for my first offense is really making me think the mods are overly emotional or just trigger happy
Tl;dr: been playing since launch and had no issues and out of nowhere I got an entire month suspension (can’t login at all) for abusive chat, this is my first offense in over 4 years, just seems too extreme to me and blizzard support refuse to negotiate with me, when I question them they give me blunt responses and block me from making tickets, I just want to know how do they determine the length or severity of punishments?
Same thing here, just got 2 months suspension (also for abusive chat) and it’s my first deviation from the code of conduct. The thing is they recently upgraded the suspension and the what you migth get suspended for and also they did a mass ban/suspension wave that went live with the Halloween event. You can try to write an appeal, but it proabably won’t go anywhere, they overtake the suspension only if it was amde by mistake (and it’s proabably not the case since you called people “r*tarded” in my case i got 2 months most proabale bcs i said the sentence “It’s like talking to a chimp” multiple times). And the “Game Masters”(peopel who review these appeals) are not anywhere near over sensitive, i told them that playing Overwatch H&S with my friends is sometimes the only thing that makes me smile and that Overwatch is like a break from the day to day hell-ish life, and they did not care, they just completely ignored me. They also ignored the fact that what they are doing (suspending/banning accounts) and by extent cutting people’s way of communicating with their friends it’s bassicly what the Goverments did in the Overwatch Universe with Petra’s Act. So bassicly the what they are doing goes completely against what they are trying to defend and what the characters of Overwant and by extent Overwatch stand for. Anyway, back to the point, you should try to write and appeal but it proabably won’t go anywhere.
Banning/suspening player right before an event, and suspending actual real fans of the game like hack “Punchy”'s been playing for 4 years, i have like 6 overwatch funko pops on my desk and wearing the d.va razer headset right as i am writing this, not to mention the fact that i bought almost all limited time owl skins. I mean if you are gonna push away the loyal gamers of your community, you might as well go right now and unplug the servers for overwatch.

Short answear: it doesn’t. For exemple i am a mercy main and lost of times i ask politely the other person to switch to another healer. At the end of the match multiple players on my team say i did bad while i had gold heals over 1000 dmg boost and around 7 resses. Of course i get pissed off and i am gonna call them names. And bippity boppity boo i get my account suspended 2 months for playing mercy and getting frustated when people don’t validate my contribution to winning a game and when they say mercy requires no skill.
Dearly, KTM.
My account just got closed. I got a message saying I´ve been cheating. I´ve done no such thing. I guess it´s forever since it doesn´t say anything else?? No headsup or anything, just closed my account down??
Hello,
WE will be unable to provide information about suspensions or bans in the forums. I would suggest that you contact the support to appeal the action from here.
