This document outlines concerns regarding a potential business relationship between Blizzard Entertainment and an outsourcing studio named LIMBHEIM, based on publicly available information.
According to its ArtStation portfolio, LIMBHEIM claims to have created character assets for Blizzard Entertainment, including work on Diablo IV. However, an examination of its legal and financial documentation raises several questions about the studio’s legitimacy.
Public records indicate that the company is registered at a legal firm’s address in St. Petersburg, Russia, under an individual’s name. The studio’s reported financial data for 2024 shows revenues of approximately $833,973.81 USD and expenses of roughly $763,247.60 USD. The near-total expenditure of revenue is unusual for a company that appears to lack a physical office or significant operational footprint. These financial patterns are consistent with methodologies sometimes used for money laundering.
In support of its claims, LIMBHEIM has cited its inclusion in the Diablo IV end credits. This presents a critical question for Blizzard Entertainment to address:
Is Blizzard Entertainment, or any of its subsidiaries, engaged in a legitimate contractual relationship with LIMBHEIM? If so, has due diligence been conducted to verify the studio’s legal and corporate status?
Alternatively, if no such relationship exists, how did LIMBHEIM’s name appear in the game’s credits? The possibility of a fraudulent credit insertion must be considered.
We seek clarification on this matter to understand the nature of this association and the measures taken to ensure the integrity of Blizzard’s outsourcing and partnership vetting processes.
