My Cataclysm folder shared with Classic Era is 16gb.
Downloading the Cata HD textures makes it 41gb… wow.
Must be a lot of data!

If you want the WoW Team to see your post, you need to put it in the WoW forums or use the in-game menu system.

Was not really looking for the “wow team” to see my post… just making a comment on how big the HD texture pack is! ))

Do not, i repeat: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THESE TEXTURES!!!
I downloaded this yesterday and now my machine keeps restarting within 5 minutes after logging on, this only happens when executing WoW, i can do anything else on my machine no matter how demanding.
Since Blizzard don’t fix problems anymore i strongly recommend NOT to install these textures until the problem mey be identified by another party.
I have a powerfull rig so i cant imagine that’s the issue, i’m on a I9 12900k Alder Lake working with a RTX3080 and have 64GB of ram.

So do i strongly suggest NOT to download this textures, first of all the difference is barely noticeable and its being a meme across reddit and other forums, i have spent 8 hours downloading them barely at 1mbps when i’ve a 500mpbs connection, the download seems to hinder my entire network , taking ages to reload pages, having 200-300ms in game.
And the cherry on top is that yesterday i couldn’t play because when i joined a dungeon the textures weren’t loaded, i couldn’t target any mob , some of them started spawning on the go but bosses not, so i got kicked and got the deserter debuff.
Many people are reporting several issues and i’d say it’s not worth the risk nor the hassle for this little benefit.
And apparently if you want to revert this you’ve to uninstall and fully reinstall the game since it’s not something you can toggle apparently.
I agree with Xaximbo - DO NOT download these textures. The only was to get rid of them is to completely uninstall the game and reinstall it. Something that is a massive headache. this should never have been released or not released until there was a way to turn it off/remove it in settings
