Hello Blizzard and fellow adventurers,
Many long-time players who legitimately earned the Obsidian Nightwing through the Recruit-a-Friend program were surprised to see it appear in the mount journal in Classic Mists of Pandaria, only to find it greyed out and unusable.
The mount exists in the client, it’s visible in-game, and players who unlocked it still have it tied to their accounts. There is no technical limitation preventing its use — just a restriction that seems arbitrary, especially in a version of Classic that already blends old and modern elements.

Why this should be reconsidered:
The mount is account-bound and was earned through real engagement with the game’s community.
Its presence in the UI creates false expectations and confusion.
There is no gameplay-breaking reason to block it — and consistency matters.
Many of us believe it’s only fair that previously unlocked rewards remain accessible. This isn’t about “adding retail content” — it’s about restoring what players have already earned.
