We’ve held a leveling marathon in cata classic with my friend and we both got a ban the next day stating we cheated which we never did, I’ve requested reviews on this but got denied, pleaase advise me what else can I do to recover the accounts, because at this point I dont know what else I can do.
This forum is exclusively dedicated to collecting feedback on the Battle.net launcher app! Additionally, discussing bans in the forum is a violation of the Code of Conduct.
You are free to send one ticket to appeal your ban, so that the GMs take another look at the situation.
The main issue is that the support refused to cooperate with him about being banned, we tried different ways and until today we still don’t know why he was banned (and a couple other friends too), except it was about some kind of cheating. When you’ve opened a ticket they’re closed it “automatically” as “there’s no room for any review after they thoroughly checked the evidence about the cheating and still found guilty”, but we still don’t know what kind of evidence they have and they refused to share it.
What bothers me most in this is it seems like this can happen to any of us, regardless what blizzard owned/developed game we are playing.
We were not just lost one of our key guild member after years, but our mood also to play their games or would play any in the future because we can be terminated anytime and our money and time would be thrown out of the window at the end as we can’t and won’t get a proper investigation, just marked as guilty instantly. It’s almost feels like we commited some kind of war crime or at least they act like we did something similar, so sad we reached this level here.
That’s all that Blizzard will give you… a vague category for the ban. If you refer to Blizzard’s In-Game Code of Conduct , you will see that “cheating” is defined as:
You are responsible for how you and your account are represented in the game world. Cheating in any fashion will result in immediate action. Using third-party programs to automate any facet of the game, exploiting bugs, or engaging in any activity that grants an unfair advantage is considered cheating.
Exploiting other players is an equally serious offense. Scamming, account sharing, win-trading, and anything else that may degrade the gaming experience for other players will receive harsh penalties.
Blizzard won’t tell you exactly what actions or what software they detected, nor how it was detected, nor when they detected it.
There is nothing that can be done on the forums… except perhaps provide some information – which we have tried to do. There are no Game Masters here who can revoke your ban, and Blizzard will not discuss your situation here.
Submitting an appeal is ALL that you can do. You say that you have done that 3 times, and that those 3 appeals were rejected. That means that, so far, 3 or possibly 4 different GMs (the original GM that issued the ban + 3 others who did the appeal reviews) have looked at your file and all 3~4 agree that whatever you did constitute cheating, and the penalty against your account was maintained.
Errors can happen when account penalties are applied… which is why the appeal system exists. See this post from Blizzard on the Americas forums:
and this post by a WoW MVP:
You can submit appeals until Blizzard tells you to stop… that not only won’t they look at your case anymore, but that further appeals might be considered GM harassment. If that is the case, then that’s it.
Please note that the forum is not the appropriate place for ban discussions. If you want to appeal your ban, please submit an appeal ticket. Please follow the forum Code of Conduct: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/000256989
